does anyone use this or have any experience using this? My local feed supplier recommended it as an alternative to shavings as they are finding it very popular. But i'd like to get some opinions on it first! Also is you do/have used it, can you use this bedding to make deep litter beds?

Thanks in advance!

I used white horse bedding the winter before last and carried some over to last winter ass I bought a pallet and a half.
I bought a different brand to finish this winter that was cheaper and I have to say I prefered the colour and look of the White horse stuff even though it was a bit more expensive.
I used to deep litter it skipping daily and very wet patches weekly.Added 1/2 bags a week
It was hard work to dig out at the end but was a nice enough bed once you got over the look of it
I have moved back to straw for this year as I have got some really good quality big bales at a reasonable price and now have storage for 10 huge bales which will do me a very long time.

It's wood pellets I believe. I use them (different brand) and like them a lot. They are designed to be deep littered. If you search for wood pellets on here about a million posts will appear :)

How many bags did you need to start off the deep litter bed? My stables are around 12 x 12. I've deep littered stables the same size before starting with 6-8 bales of shaving but have no idea for this bedding!

You either absolutely love or utterly loathe woodpellets, usually depending on how messy your horse is in the stable!

Give them a try, if you get on with them you'll save money. If you really hate it, you can easily go back to shavings.

Everyone at our yard, even the DIYs have to use them, and the love/hate divide is about 50/50. Some people hated them so much they actually moved yards just because of the bedding! Some horses seem to keep the beds really clean, and others seem to turn their beds into what resembles a pete bog every morning.

Never tried White Horse, but I believe Heather Moffet uses them. I use LWP and have done for 3 years. My two boys are very wet and pellets are the only bedding I can afford to keep a nice bed. I don't deep litter either. I start off with 13 bags each and I never dampen them. For White Horse I'd try 8 to start.
