Anyone have any experience good or bad, with the White Horse Bedding?
Does it freeze in cold weather?
I was thinking of using them under normal shavings bed to absorb the wet patch (horse wees in the same place, and I semi-deep litter, taking out the wet once a week)
Would this work, does anyone think?

I am currently using this bedding - by itself on rubber matting. I
Ve been pleased with it however would have preferred the bags to be 15kg instead of 10kg.
 
Hated it and yes, i danced around the yard when i used the final bag!
they put me off wood pellets for ever but according to a lot of wood pellet users, brands do differ a lot so maybe i just didnt try the best brand (i used the premium ones)
 
As a matter of interest, luckilotti, what did you hate about it? Did you use it for whole bed or mix in with other bedding?

I adore my white horse bedding, there's minimal waste, it doesn't move around too much, it's dry, it's easy to muck out and my mare who previously disliked lying down in the stable now lies down every night!

I would however like to see them sell a 15kg bag :)
 
I love mine. Been using it for two years. Though service was also very good from them. However, my sister used it for a while and didn't like it. Her horse is a grub though whereas mine wees and poos in the same place so is quite clean which I think makes it work better.
 
I tried it on mats, on just concrete floors, i tried taking out the wet - i tried keeping the wet in, i tried big beds, i tried smaller bed - i tried them with mutiple different horses......

it was just terrible - i found it very heavy to work with (usually on shavings or cushiobed), also, after just 10 days, i had some mushrooms start to grow on the edge of it.... the vets saw me trying this bedding and the vet was mortified when i showed her them starting to grow and she suggested i contact white horse and kick up a fuss and clearly there was something not right with the bedding (never had issues like this before - stable was fully cleaned and disinfected as we put the bedding down).

long term, i would have been crippled trying to use them longer term. I tried so many different ways with them, but all were not right. We have a livery yard and the liveries all followed our experiments with them eagerly - after seeing all of our trials etc none of them ever want to even try them themselves.

it was maybe 2 years ago that i tried them, maybe they have changed a bit since then but i wouldnt spend a penny to try them again and TBH, even if i was offered a free pallet load, i think i would turn them down as i really really disliked them!

They are the first wood pellets I've used; I've been using them just under a year now on rubber matting. They are so, so much quicker than straw - I HATED being on straw but it was all my old yard used. When I moved to DIY I researched and decided to try wood pellets - so glad I did! I have the WHPremium at the mo, when they're used up I will shop around and buy whichever brand is cheapest. Would get the 'premium' level of each brand though as the 'value' ones seem to be a bit of a false economy from other people's reviews.
