Just about to place my first order with these guys and wondered if anyone wanted me to use them as my friend so they get £20 off their next order?

Oh how I wish I didn't empty my inbox so often. I wasn't even aware they offered this and just checked but I don't have the e-mail any more. I ordered the premium a few weeks ago and the bags aren't as flimsy as I was expecting.

I switched to wood pellets last year (used Woodlets and they were great, but read that Premium are as good but much cheaper). I'll never switch back now. I love them. No smell and (with two greys) vastly reduced stable stains. They're cheaper than shavings too.

The premium are cheaper? :S
Was going for Woodlets with the thought they were cheapest, as I'd heard good things about both!

This is great to know, i saw on their Facebook that they had improved the Premium bags to be stronger.
I have used Verdo in the past (awful) and some other unbranded ones which were OK. I had heard good things on WHE so thought id give them ago. I will be combining pellets and shavings.

FC - the woodlets are the more expensive.

I've got loads of pellets left from my last order from WHE, but I'm seriously considering another ton order while they're offering Platinum Plus so cheap! I've been on pellets for at least 6 years and no way will I consider any other type of bedding.

Woodlets are cheaper per bag but the bags are only 10kg. The premium are 15kg bags and workout at about £220 for a ton and the Woodlets about £260.

how is that advertising, surely the whole thread is then?!

FC have you out your order in yet?

My thoughts exactly! Wouldn't consider it advertising when I'm not encouraging anyone to buy it and also miss_c wasn't encouraging me because I'd already decided to! Haha
But yes, sorted my order for this time around. Not sure if you can use different codes every time you order tho. Fingers crossed, i'll be ordering again in a few months if it works out.

Hi, please can anyone advise how many bags I should order for a 12 x 12 stable? And as a newbie to wood pellets, how do you actually use them? Do you just put them in the stable or do you have to do anything to them first? I would like to deep litter. I'm going to be leaving stable door open so horse can go in and out directly from the field, so effectively using it as a field shelter. I'm trying to preserve grass and leave hay in stable rather than it getting trampled in the field. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

I'd say my stable is roughly the same size, maybe even a foot smaller either way. I put 15 bags of 10kg woodlets in to start with and add 2 a week.

I add half a bucket of water to a 10kg bag and then spread across stable. Have been experimenting as this was the first time I had them. Things I have found so far:

- Banks don't work
- Digging wet out every day/every other day uses way too much bedding
- Having a bigger bed makes mucking out easier

I'm still learning though! Hopefully now I've stopped digging out the wet (will be deep littering), I will only add a bag a week.

Thanks FlyingCircus, that's a great help :)

Just received an infraction from HHO for putting my code... Apparently I was advertising... cheers button pusher whoever you are.

That's just happened to me, ridiculous as its not advertising. Thanks whoever reported it. Was only trying to save someone some money. Oh well.
