One of my yearlings has one white sock at the back. Noticed over the last few days that she has scabs forming on it which today looked owrse and her leg is a little inflamed. I am assuming this is similar to mud fever but possibly caused by dew on the grass (they live out and the grass is quite long in their new field)

What is the best way to treat this? and does anyone have any more info on the cause

I've had a bit of this on my mare's white sock. I recommend rubbing in MSM cream or Sudocrem. This should sort it out.

My old chap suffers from this due to what I think is the dew on the grass! I have found keratex powder really good. It is expensive but doesnt get as mucky as creams.

My friends arabx gets this on her white socks. With her it's photosensitivity, best thing to do is just put sudocream on it and don't pick at scabs. Hope this helps xxx
