White Line Disease/Seedy Toe

Which vets did you use? I am sure yours are excellent however there are several "equine" vets in Shropshire I wouldn't let within 200m of my cob!
I can however recommend a superb equine vet (Shropshire based and not one of the huge equine practices) if you'd like a second opinion.

I have never bought a donkey that did not have wld. Once cleaned up by the farrier regular applications of sheep footrot spray has workded in every case to clear them up.

My mare had it and it diseased the pedal bone and she was lame, vet had to drill into the foot and scrape the pedal bone that was damaged then she had a surgical plate fitted, the hole had to be flushed twice a day and she was on box rest for about 3 months just to let the hole close up and to keep it clean.

Also had a few issues with various vets, will PM you x

The vet didn't do xrays in the end, though I'm unclear as to why..?? Horse went to vets to be xrayed and possible nerve blocks but the diagnosis was made without.
That’s rather baffling, seeing as your friend had made the effort to take the horse into clinic so that all the diagnostic equipment was there at hand. It would have been more understandable if the vet had come on a call out without the X-ray machine.

I can imagine what my vet would have said after the initial examination, which may well have included nerve blocks to confirm that it was just foot lameness ’I think that this is a case of x, but we’ll x ray just to confirm that there is nothing else going on’.
