White Mast (canerous) Cells on dogs

Hi

Wonder if anyone had any experience with the above. My boxer dog (2 1/2 yrs) had an op last week to remove a tiny growth, the results have come back and they have said its a Mast Skin Cell which is cancerous, but the positive is its only a grade 1!

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what the prognosis is like. The vet has said to carry on as normal and just be vigilant etc as the prognosis is good for her, however I would like to hear from others that may have been in the same boat and had a good ending?

Your vet will have described this better but the grade is low and therefor less likely or smaller chance of spreading, and can usually be removed along with the lump, so localised to the area, as opposed to a higher grade thats maybe be more likely to grow and spread at a more alarming rate.
You will jsut need to keep an eye on the area now for re growth, my mams little dog has has the same lump removed 2 times and it was always very slow growing and never spread, it really depends on how much tissue is removed/can be removed depending on the area/sorrounding tissues.
My deerhound has also has 2 lumps removed that where grade 1 mast cell.
One of the vets may make more sense than me

I do often sit and read our lab result sheets when Im bored on the night shift
