White saddle cloth or numnah for dressage

As the title really, do you think I could get away with a white numnah rather than a saddle cloth doing prelim unaffiliated dressage?

I find when riding in saddle cloths that my leg slides around on the saddle cloth and I cant maintain contact as well as riding in a numnah (my legs are very short!).

Not sure if there is anything in the rule book!

Yes you could. I've known people to use a black saddlecloth with the horse's name on it out unaffiliated, so you would be absolutely fine!

I use brown at affiliated. There are no rules re colour.

I use a numnah for Cob

It should be noted that there are no extra marks for turnout!!

Although the judge may be harsher if you look like you have been dragged through a hedge backwards! However I rarely plait, unless part of a team and use the best saddle pad for my horse regardless of colour!

A white numnah would look perfect. Black or brown to match colour of tack would also be fine.

I'm going to sound REALLY old fashioned now, but I was told at about 14 (by a very elderly Olympic dressage rider) that white saddlecloths were only correct for the higher levels, when ones horse might get tickled by your tails!

We had a navy dr numnah when BE eventing.

I tend to use a black one or navy one. White gets so filthy very quickly
