My horse has developed a white spot in the corner of his eye just about at the point where the sclera meets the main eye. It became visible a couple of weeks ago although it may have been smaller to start with so not so noticeable. You can only see it when horse looks one way. Vet will come this week to look but in the meantime, any thoughts on what it might be?

There's no history of an injury, swelling or discharge from this eye apart from both eyes getting a bit sore from flies in September (other horse had this too) - cleared up quickly with vet's antibiotic cream.

Here's a pic. Not the greatest but shows size and location.IMG_3134.JPG

Always get a vet out asap for eye issues with horses, they can go very wrong very quickly. Hopefully it's something and nothing, but if it is something then the sooner treatment begins the better.

Vet coming Wednesday. There's no swelling or discharge and it looks like a strange bit of pigmentation, so hopefully nothing!

Mine had white flat areas on eyes which were squamous cell carcinoma. Surgery to remove third eyelids AHT resolved issue.
Thanks for replying. Vet has been and thinks it is a pigmentation issue. The eye is normal in every other respect, thankfully. He is a buckskin and vet says dilutes can get depigmentation. We are keeping an eye on it though.
