Having owned a white mare for 5 years I stumbled across a trick for whitening her tail.
Prior to washing it - I did it twice the week before. Spray baby oil into it - not too much and brush through, not on the dock though.
A week later, wash it with washing up liquid, then follow with shampoo and conditioner.. WOW is all I can say, lovely silvery tail, mare staining- GONE !! and way way cheaper than whitening shampoo and safe to boot..
Just thought I'd pass the tip on for those of us with white (or grey
) horses for those who didn't know of it.
