My feed whiteboard is starting to fall apart. There’s a lot of “ghost” writing from over the years and rust from the frame spreading across it. The feed room is a spare stable so prone to moisture - do I replace for another whiteboard or do people find chalkboards work better in this environment ?

Thanks Fuzzy, that’s really helpful. Do you use chalk pens or normal chalk sticks ?
Chalk sticks, I buy a pack about every 5 or 6 years or longer, keep the box inside a little Tupperware box, leaving one stick out on the side. Lasts for ages.
Easy to wipe with old damp cloth, but make sure you dry off properly as chalk doesn't like writing on damp, tho once written it stays put nicely ☺

you can repaint a chalk board. With a white board all you need is some dumb**** to use the wrong pen and its *******d
Agree! I have a whiteboard in the feedroom, with the horses names/feed types written in red Sharpie, and the rations in whiteboard marker (with a system whereby any changes are written in green, which my sidekick changes to black once she's seen the changes, and any meds are written in red.
Some idiot keep using the sharpie to mark up the meds...and that idiot is me. I have taken my bottle of nail polish remover up to the yard, as I am more likely to sharpie the feed board than paint my nails!
