Whitening Shampoos?

What shampoos do you all use on your dirty white ponies?
I have a really dirty traditional cob and have used cowboy magic blue shampoo religiously for about two years now but since changing it from blue to purple it hasnt worked any better than baby shampoo so im on the lookout for a new whitening shampoo that wont cost a fortune!
Any tips on removing stubborn stable stains also? He seems to have laid in permenant poo and i have been trying for weeks to remove it to no avail!

I find the Bly thing that really works is absorbine show clean mane and tail whitener, can use a cheap shampoo and then use this as a rinse diluted with water. My grey is disgusting! I use this every weekend to keep on top of stains and particularly his tail (he managed to have a green tail by every Saturday!!)

Can use it in all white bits, it's not cheap at around £15 a bottle but lasts a while :)

There is a blue shampoo someone on my yard uses that is amazing! I can't recall the name but her coloureds come up bright white for the showing season after a while winter off as holiday, but it's about 30 quid for a litre bottle and one bottle does one horse.. I'd rather keep on top of it.
 
I use vetrolin white 'n' brite!! Not the cheapest but a little goes a long way and a bottle lasts months. I too have a filthy cob!!

I was recommended by some that that shows to use a bar of vanish (comes in bars and is generally next to the vanish spray). I was apprehensive as worried it might be too harsh but did a spot test for any reaction and absolutely no issue, is really cheap, lasts ages and works really well. Obviously, like any product you need to make sure it is well rinsed out.
 
I have had a lot of pure white horses and show ponies, my hunter went out absolutely gleaming every week, the fact that it lasted as far as the first covert was by the by ;) I used Champion, it comes in powder form and looks purple, fabulous stuff I have never used anything else. Word of warning ... rinse WELL.

My daughter was in the ring collecting her trophy when the heavens opened, the pony turned a lovely shade of lavender! I do these things so that you don't have to :D

I had a similar problem Enfys! One of my first time using blue shampoo and I left it in too long and stained his roots on his feathers and mane :')
Better blue than brown! Haha
 
I use Wahl Diamond White (white legs here) and it's reasonably good as long as you rinse well - we got to our last dressage comp and I took a travel boot off to be greeted with a big purple stripe down the outside of one leg!

There's a really strong purple/blue toner for blonde hair sold in Poundshops that is even better - Provoke Touch of Silver. I use it on my hair but it's worked well on legs :).

Sophiecollins11....I am saddened! Why fix something if it isn't broken! So sad! I have a huge bottle of it with not much left...looks like I will be reading this post to find a replacement when it runs out!!!

Ooo pound shops are always good haha, I don't mind spending money on a good shampoo but it never seems to last long so end up spending about £100 a year on shampoo!

I know!! I was gutted! I had used it for the last 2 years and always seen amazing results but I went out and brought a bottle a week ago for dressage on Friday and it just didn't work one bit! My other one had a little left in and worked amazing so guess they're changing it :(
