whitney houston is dead

It really makes me sick. How dare they. I didn't pay much attention to her, but she's still a person! Poor woman, R.I.P.

She was a mother and person but she still chose to use crack, heroin etc etc she had been in and out of rehab. She ultimately made the choice to keep using drugs - your body can only take so much abuse.:o She also had the money to keep feeding her addicition and the scumbags that feed of people like her:o

While it is sad when anyone loses their fight for life there are thousands out there who lose their fight from motor neurone, cancer etc :(

The outpouring of 'grief' for celebrities who die as a result of their long term drug abuse leaves me cold.:(

Slinky, I agree. Whilst the death of anyone (baring calculating murderers) is sad, I think the way society teaches our children to iodolise the deaths of these drug taking celebrities is even sadder.

Sorryim gona be harsh but it's just my thought, all these famous people who have so much money and could have anything they want ( most off us would give anything to be in that position) and they waste their lives on drugs. It's so sad and shows their weakness if you ask me. Tbh I couldn't care as they bring it on themselves.

Harsh but this does have some truth.

All over the world, people who've had a hard life, despite giving their all to their families, their work and their community will have died young today too. Why should we be "sadder" that a very privileged famous person who we've never met has died than about their deaths?

Recently a young person died locally, homeless and an addict. There wasn't much sympathy, after all he was a "druggy". As was Whitney.

I'm NOT without sadness at anyone's drug-induced problems and early death, I just hate the double standards of the celebrity culture.

Also have to agree with Slinky, if you live by the sword you will die by the sword! Whats the difference between some nobody dieing of herion and a celeb! apart from all the public grief and publicity! saying that she had the most amazing voice! we all have choices in this life and she made hers, I feel more for her children and family who are left to pick up the pieces!

I agree with the later posts. She was talent and an unbelievable voice but wasted it. We all have pressure, we all have demons to face and because you're famous I not an excuse. If I ended up the very same nobody would say a kind word about the good I'd done. Nope I'd just be labled a waste and not a kind word spoken.

So while it's sad to see anyone die young she did have choices. Children are dying everyday of terrible diseases as well as young mothers and fathers. Those deaths of normal everyday people who fight what wasn't their choice sadden me a whole lot more. Lots of everyday normal people struggling to survive death sentences. You choose to head down a bad road in which you know the consequences, sorry, I can't get too upset.

Whitney Houston's does not affect me emotionally. That said, I do think it is wrong to make fun of someones death. It is not her who is being hurt but the relatives and friends left behind. Just imagine losing someone you love and then, in addition to your grief, having to deal with jokes about the person you've just lost.

^^^^completely agree with you on all points.

I agree to a certain extent that she had rehab which would have spelt out the results in bold clear english of what would happen if she carried on using them; she had a child to think about and the whole word who worshipped her amazing, once in a life time talent. But still her relationship to her drugs seemed more important to her.

But then also I can sympathise, if you have never had an addiction to something it is very hard to realise what quite someone goes through. I remember clearly as I had an addiction to not eating. It turns into your life, all you can think about is that certain thing. Even the closest family and friends become second to what your addiction is, be it drugs, alcohol, shopping, or seeing the needle on the scales moving down or the feeling of elation as your reach your 5.5 stone target.

The mind is a powerful weapon, and the ability it holds to plays tricks on our body to make it think it needs something is tremendous.

I wouldnt call her weak, not in the slightest. Her strength got her to where she was. Unfortunately her strength was also used in denial of the ultimate consequence of what the drugs would really do to her in the end.

Quite often people with addictions who can not crack the habit are not weak but the strongest people. Their strength stops them from reaching the turning point of realising what they are doing is wrong or acknowledging there is something in their life missing or in need of attention and they use their addiction to fill that hole.

CNN News said she died in a hotel room on her own. These celebs have nothing to do all day. They don't seem to have full lives, only rich lives, which seems to not bring them happiness.

When I read about their depression etc I just think really, you don't know how lucky you are. If I had their money or talent I wouldn't be on drugs thats for sure. I would be out enjoying it and putting my money to good use. There are plenty of charities etc to get involved with which I am sure would fill their days.

Totally agree.
Don't have alot of sympathy for people who lose their lives doing stupid stuff.

MM..you don't know how lucky you are not to be suffering from depression.
When that black cloud comes down all the money in the world won't make it go away.
It dosnt differenciate between rich or poor and its not just a case of feeling sorry for yourself.
It's a recognised illness.
