Bobby is doing the BBC coverage I believe. All the Eurosport/ Discovery coverage will be Richard Vaughn and a guest.

I'm not a fan of the Discovery + commentators, although did like Spencer for eventing but the dressage pair are awful IMHO.

I'm seriously considering writing an email to Discovery Plus about them but suspect it won't achieve a lot!

Totally agree. Nicky Pasco is driving me insane. I’ve had to mute her.

She just occasionally says something a bit thoughtless. Like saying the how lovely it is that the Aus team is here but that you can’t compare this rider in now (Simone Pearce) to Isabell.

Whether it’s true or not, it’s not really necessary to say. The rider is competition at the very highest level of the sport.

I think she's improving all the time, and let's face it, most of us would be pretty poor at doing something extremely public, for the first time, with all the other "stuff" overhanging dressage at the moment, and she's not being helped by Richard V's inane remarks.

She's also had a hell of a bashing on sm too, which nobody deserves.

My dad has been saying he wished she would explain things in layman’s terms a little more. He’s got a decent knowledge of dressage having followed it for years 20 plus years, but equally he’s not a rider and some of her thoughts are going over his head but he wishes he knew what she meant.

I suppose most people watching are riders though, so she’s going to pitch it a bit more to that level.

In fairness, the bits I've seen today have been much better.

She's not just brushing under the carpet tension, actively pointing out harmony and she's actually referring to the horse as a horse and not 'it' so I'm much happier listening to her today than the first day.

I think she's settled into it a bit more - I didn't realise she wasn't a commentator day to day, so her first day makes more sense especially given the circumstances leading up to the Olympics.

Credit where credit's due - I complained about RV the first few days and at Tokyo but think today he's far better. Nicky is also excellent today and seems to have gained in confidence vs. day 1. Her and RV also seem to be a better partnership than RV and SS (who was excellent in the eventing).

I was pretty critical of Nicky’s commentary on the first day, but I think she’s improved. She’s braver at calling out tension and faults now.
Same here, and I hold some of those critiques still but others I would not have had if I knew the background of her commentating.

Absolutely no need to have a go at her online though.
