Who are best looking in the equestrian world?

How about a Robert Whittaker posed in a thong calendar? He could wear one of those comedy horse ones?

Andrew Gould is pretty good looking as is W Whittaker and that young showjumper who used to be a boxer, can't remember his name tho :o

I don't particularly care for EW or ZP however, I am pretty sure that they both do a good job of promoting equestrianism to non horsey bods. Although Zara is a royal she happens to be the child of a well liked princess who was, of course, a great horsewoman her self.

It doesn't matter what we think, we are into equestrian sport already. I know plenty of boys who are into both these ladies despite not being horsey.

And really, Wayne Rooney is attractive?

But with the general thought process when seeing Zara Phillips being of 'rich royal' it won't do the sport any good. You need people with a bit more of a 'normal' background. Yes, Zara works hard, she's not got a royal title and has done it the hard way but at the end of the day she still comes from a different pedestal. The same pedestal people moaned about when she was nominated and subsequently won SPOTY.

Cheryl Cole wouldn't be the face of L'Oreal if she hadn't come from her Newcastle housing estate roots (amongst other things).

ETS: might have mis-read the original thread in terms of 'faces' for the equestrian world. Looks wise - Zara sells, big time. I know a couple of people who work for Musto. Might ask them if her photos plastered everyone have made a difference. Getting the sport into a wider audience, no Zara wouldn't be a good idea as above :)

I don't see the correlation between that statement and what I posted in the reply you quoted? Some people see Pheobe as both camera friendly and talented.:)

It doesn't matter. You're right. Lots of people see her as both of those things, she just isn't for me. Like EW isn't for Koko. I have my reasons.

Andrew Gould I don't get at all? That photo freaks me out!

this is apparently who we think are the hottest males, hmmmm...

Shamefully, bar Carl Hestor, I am going say no to that survey. Sorry for the people who voted.

I agree!

There you go!

Yes he is nice looking, and am I right in thinking he was very ill just before Badminton, or was that someone else? That's a nice story right there, everyone likes a come-back against the odds.

I must say apart from FW and possily AG, im not conviced by the suvey either :/ bad times! How about Geoff Curran? He's so cute, and Irish and is a man in uniform :p

Yup that was him, competed at Badders whilst still ill, and then came back to complete Burghleigh. I *think* he had meningitis, there was a H&H articl on him a while ago.

Yes! I remember now. He came off at Badminton and was very sweet with his horse when he did, wasn't he?:)

I just threw up in my mouth. :D

HAHA.

Your point is very valid. Purely looks wise she is not bad to look at but her image may be overshadowed by her gilded background as you quite rightly pointed out. Please do ask. I know, from working in marketing, it is very hard -unless you are using face to face with purchase at the time- to monitor whether a campaign made any difference.

I just wanted to say that I meant my reply in not that I thought your opinion was invalid but that I didn't understand why you said that phrase. It does matter, to me at least, because I value everyone's opinions...Even the one about Robert Whitaker in a thong which, I hope, was a joke. Haha. I just meant that I wasn't clear on your meaning. You cleared it up for me later when you said that you thought differently. Then understood, you mean that you didn't think XYZ was your kettle of fish so to speak and that is why you can't base it off looks alone because not everyone agrees! Is that right or am I lost? :D

Carl Hester is actually ok looking. I'd never noticed that before. I'm rubbish!

Not only is it hard to find a man that looks good in breeches it is also really hard to spot anyone underneath the hats and garb they were on horseback!

I must say apart from FW and possily AG, im not conviced by the suvey either :/ bad times!

Perhaps that is what the general horse world likes and we are the ones who are the minority? Could very well be!

On that note - Paul Tapner. He seemed to acknowledge that his horse had played a role in his winning Badminton from my recollection, which is more than can be said for some riders... A bit more acknowledgement of the partnership aspect of riding might help too!

To make this broader and to keep it valid, we can both nominate people for purely looks (the pretties or the Anna Kournikova i.e may not be at the top of the sport but pretty enough to sell tickets) and the "personalities" or the gifted sportsman. i.e Wayne Rooney. Haha.

As you have already seen a few of my choices when it comes to the pretties I will go with the personality.

Geoff Billington. Team him with a pretty, one with their looks (man or women) to draw in the shallow among us and Geoff to make us laugh once we get there.

Who is on the forum that loves Paul Tapner. Its wracking my brains trying to think. She had the idea seemingly before most!

I always love it to see the riders giving their horses the much deserved recognition.

I can't believe you are all dismissing the obvious winner here.
Nick Gauntlet does it for a lot of ladies out there!!!
