it was two riders. look at him rising to the trot. tho only upper body visible he has the beginners 'wobble' as he rises but the cantering and jumping rider as well as being able to keep horse on the bit is obviously established in his position and most importantly is never seen from the front!

From the look of it it was not him riding. The bits with his hands bobbing up and down and a too high rising trot were him but not the rest.
