I've bought a 2nd hand car and have to sort out some roadside - just in case - assistance for it.

Obviously with towing neddy I want something that will cover me, him & the trailer if god forbid something happened.

The RAC man quoted me £145 for roadside, at home & trailer cover - does that sound ok to you?

Or should I look at giving someone else my money and if so who?

I just want to know that should I get stuck somewhere that they'd be able to at least get him home paramount, and sort me out too!

RAC do excellent cover and the figure you quote is about right. They do recover you and your horse whereas some other organisations dont recover the horse, just the car and trailer. Hubby works for the RAC and says that the cover is very good, had them out to my car a couple of times and were very good, not just saying so cos he works for them. The Trailer breakdown is £45 for the year I believe, look on their web site for more info.

Might be worth phoning the NFU as they are good usually and are doing a lot of discounts this year as it's their Centenary.

NFU are usually really good and we used to use them before we had a lorry. The horse cover was always more important to us than the trailer which is why we went with them in the first place.
