Who does yard visits with a weigh bridge?

What feed companies would come out to mine with a weigh bridge for my 2 horses and show me how to condition score? I could do with some feed advice too, but I know they will only advise about the own feeds. Would anyone come out for just 2 horses? I'm at home so no other horses to include

Dengie came out to us, but I think you needed quite a few horses (more than two but less than 10!)
Do you have any other yards near you who might be interested in joining in?

Dengie do for 5 I think- and you get a goody bag!

baileys did mine at BEF futurity- only foal to stand on the weigh bridge!

I've had Dengie out too. My vets will weigh your horse and can show you how to condition score too but you have to travel your horse to them. It was free though!

Top Spec do but I think they need ten horses to come out with the weigh bridge.

Hmm, I thought that'd be the case. No one near me really who'd be interested. I couldn't find the details on dengie website. I do actually have three, but one is a 28" Shetty. It would be great to have her weighed actually as weighing her hay and guessing her weight at the mo. Spose that doesn't help in our weight loss target!

Worth emailing/ringing dengie. They were really helpful when I contacted them. If you can be flexible you could always ask if they can fit you in when they are in the area. Problem is it takes half an hour for them to set up/put away which is why they usually ask for a minimum number of horses

Allen & page came out with a weigh bridge for my 2 & I got a free bag of feed (20kg one!)

I weighed my Shetland too just for fun so was 3, but only 2 'proper' ones iyswim

But I pop my horses down to the vets twice a year it's easier

Ask your vet if any of the local veterinary practices have a mobile weighbridge. One practice round here has one (East Sussex/Surrey/West Sussex).

We had Spillers over but they did 12 in one go. A good thing to do IMO if you can organise it. My boy was heavier by 50kg than his weight tape "weight" indicated and the girl who weighed him reckoned most horses are heavier , and in some cases, a lot heavier, than tapes tell you they are.

Most of the feed companies will only come out if you have 10 plus horses. Our yard has Spillers out twice a year but we usually have at least 15 horses weighed.

Have you tried advertising locally for other people to join you? You might be surprised how many people would be happy to travel to you. I'd be prepared to box a couple of mine over to have them weighed if you were within a few miles of me

Can recommend Fiona, the horse nutritionist. She's independent! Has her own weight bridge and covers typically Hampshire, Surrey, and Sussex. She's a livery at the yard where I keep my horse but she's helped me with feeding up my tricky mare.

I ahve taken mine to the vets in the pat.

However, to do it at home with a group - do you need to have mains power?

I have also had Allen and Page out just for mine- they don't seem to have a minimum amount. Didn't need any power supply for the weighbridge. Really good and free 20k bag of food...Will definitely use again!
