daughters horse hates this wet and windy weather.regardless of grass and hay she has done nothing but gallop up and down the field rearing and bucking and proceeding to plough it up .my other 2 would be fine but shes sets them off and one is meant to be resting.i cant leave her in every time the weathers bad and she was awful last winter.any ideas. or do i just accept thats how she is.

Both the geldings are a bit wimpy about wet windy weather and I am sure would prefer to spend all the winter months in than go out and get muddy. Highland mare and her most recent baby don't seem to care though

Mine is complete and utter wimp as well.

I was tacking him up last night and he was looking at me with an expression that said "are you totally mad woman it's raining"

Having said that though he produced some very good work last night long and low no problem at all shame his head was bending the wrong way to keep out of the rain!

Mine's a total wimp. She likes to go out for about 20 minutes, have a mooch around and a roll, then come back in. She's 29 though, so I do pander to her quite a lot!!

All horse hate wet and windy  they dont seem to mind cold as much but wind is not good light rain ok but if its persistant then no so you are not alone.

We have four, ranging from 29rs old to a yearling, whenever the weather has been wet and windy, all four choose to stand inside the stables, although the old boy is rugged up the others aren't but already have thick coats, it's only when weather is bad they go in

My old girl doesn't have a problem and will stand outside in the rain, despite having free access to her stable! Her son, however, hated the rain and would refuse to leave his stable. Once we finally got him out, when he came back in, he would roll and roll until he was dry. BTW, he wasn't rugged then as he was only a yearling and we were hardening him up (well, tyring to!).

She's a TB X ID and her son was by an RID - just for information!

I have 3 new forests, mare is 14 and doesn't give a hoot about the weather, 16 month old gelding is the same, my 4 year old well thats a different matter! He hates the wind /rain with a passion! I have never seen such a miserable pony in my life. All 3 have lived wild and i have had the 2 boys since foals but surely being natives they can cope pmsl!!
