And there's MORE rain expected tomorrow and ALL day Tuesday

It's horrible.

I think tomorrow morning might be spent turning the sheep pen barn into a temporary stable for the 2 horse mares. They are just so unhappy out there now and my stables won't be up for another 2 weeks.

Anyone else got the same problem? Shall we all do the sun dance?!

One lake (with ducks!) in field, one ford to wade through to get to barn. Luckily horse can stand on dry places for her turnout (not muddy field) and hay is in barn. I am in danger of "water over wellies" problems if it rains much more though! And snow is forecast for Thursday / Friday - I hope they are wrong.

I have a spring whish rises at the very top of my field. It usually runs through a pipe underneath my field but over the summer it has either broken or got blocked as I now have a river running down my field!!
Somewhere along the line I feel a big bill coming!!

Oh my god nightmare isnt it, in the dark I literally cant see where the water is and end up either sinking in mud or nearly drowning in water every single day haha good job I dont mind

When I went to muck out yesterday, I was greeted with this!

I didn't have my wellies on as they were in the shed so had to wait on the embankment until one of the girls showed up in their wellies to they could fetch mine!

The stable is near a ford which floods all the while due to the new houses that have been built down the road on the former flood plane.

There were ducks swimming in the fields and the two water tanks in the fields floated away (got one back today)! Luckily the yard is totally enclosed so we left two of them on it with hay, water and feed as the water doesn't tend to come up past the paving.

You have to becareful though when it floods as there is a 5' drop at the side of the driveway where the stream runs. When it floods, everything looks level!!

Went today and the water had all but drained away but there is still a stream running through and all the grass got washed away!

Oh yeah, our fields are like quagmires.....we have huge puddles like lakes and a few of the horses were having a bath in them today, it was hilarious, they looked more like hippo's than horses, don't envy the owners that will be grooming tomorrow

Yes ours look like somebody has poured chocolate custard from the gateway to.............well,far back, lol!!!courtesy of the one horse that insists on pacing the gate and fenceline when it is nearly time to bring in!!!

My poor lad looks discusted every day when he has to swim threw it!!!!

at my the yard the horses are in for a few days in the hope that the fields may dry out a bit - ha ha! Thankfully we have a horse walker and a lovely YO who takes them all for an in hand graze (not all at once!!)

My lot are in the field at the top of the hill at our yard which luckily hadn't been grazed all summer so had decent grass cover when they went in there in November. Being on a slope and with the grass, its not too bad yet, bit wet around the gate but probably the best field on the farm!! However getting there and back involves struggling up a mudchute of a track with tractor ruts all over is that is slippery as ice!! My dog comes back caked in mud from nose to tail. The yard itself is filthy as well - what was a lawn is now a bog, and if you step off the concrete you sink in about 6 inches!

Yeah, no grazing for us either. I turned the neds out for an hour today while I did stuff and then brought them in and gave them piles of hay. I had just asked the farmer to put down grass seed in the resting fields as it has been mild so that it would be ready for March and April! Grrr, all got washed away.
