Who else is waiting?!

My mare is hiding it well too. The last time my vet was out to do her teeth she said that she didnt look preggers at all, she was roughly 250 days at that point. She is now 300 days today and talk about being a grump! I took her in tonight as we have gale force winds and sleet showers, you would think that she would of been glad to be in but not her! She was kicking the door and having a battle with her haynet. I tried to groom her but she was having nothing of it! When I got her home from the stud she was such a sook in the last couple of months she's turned into a crabbit old bird! If you try to touch her belly she swishes her tail in disgust and stamps her back hoofs.

I've been keeping a close eye on her since january and every day I write in my diary what I've done with her and if theres been any changes with her eating etc etc.

Just over a month to go - first time for me and Tia :) She was really soppy, then grumpy, touchwood she seems happier this week. I always thought she looked quite little compared to everyone else's photos but she suddenly looked alot bigger tonight - belly swaying from side to side when she was waddling around the menage! Udders gone down again (she has always been fine about us touching them) and oedema on belly gone but I still wonder if this was connected to the grumpiness. Very excited but think I will be a nervous wreck when the time comes! Good luck to all owners with mares due to foal - fingers crossed for healthy mum's and foals all round :)

My first foals are due to hit the ground in April, the next batch of mares are due in May and this will be right through to the last mare who is due in June. Foaling alongside re-breeding is always a fun and very busy time :)

My old mare foaled at 5.55am =] she refused to leave her stable yesterday- absolutely point blank would not move! She was bang on time, if not a little early! First foal :D

I got told by my Equine vet and in the books, not too get the teeth done when the mare in foal is in her last trimester, because of the bacteria.

Well, I think I will start foal watch tonight. My mare has not been herself all day, has been very quiet, not really eating (very unlike Evi) and lots of little spells of lying down. Her bump seems to have changed during the day, appearing a little smaller than it did earlier. So here come the anxious wait and long sleepless nights!

Here i am again.....night 23 and still no foals!
Though the one who is 2 weeks over is showing signs of wanting to foal tonight and both her and the other who is overdue had wax today. Fingers crossed!
