My little girl grew up in a herd of A-rabs! so shes been left long a O-natural! but shes a welsh mix!

- i didnt see any problems with this! but someone on a post years ago said i should chop it all off and and plaite her up! Am I the only one who lets there mix go long!? (im a big andalusian/arab fan..might have something to do with it!) - love to see some rebelious photos!

Shes recently been doing some tiny fun shows (hence the big coloured numnah in a showing class!

Plus she doesnt suit short pulled mane! ive seen it before!

Who else lets there mixes go long!? Shes not a real showing pony, just for fun, but even when i said this it was still shamed apon!..wierd in my view!? I dont look down on people for pulling their horses manes....?

I think she is lovely and the long flowing locks really suit her. IMO the only time she would need to pulled and trimmed is if the showing got to serious levels. Otherwise leave her as she is she is gorgeous!

Mine is half arab, but when i pulled his mane he looked stupid

So, although it's going through a really messy/ugly stage right now, I'm letting it grow long so that i can see what he looks like

And trimmed off the scraggly bits at the end

My A-rabs mane doesnt even grow longer than you top picture!!!

i had a Welsh part bred years ago, we did plait up for proper classes, but at the lower level local stuff I always left her mane and tail unplaited as they were long and silky and very beautiful. I got quite good at disguising just how much hair was there when we had to plait and would certainly never have shortened the mane.

I think your pony looks gorgeous with a long mane, it really suits her and makes her look very pretty. For showing maybe you could enter some mountain and moorland classes as the ponies are meant to have their manes unplaited for these. Your arab is stunning too! (I love the long mane look

) You could try not combing her mane to help it grow longer, so you don't pull any hairs out by mistake, and then just wash it the day before a show so it's clean and knot-free.

The welsh D i had on loan had a gorgous mane very long you cant really tell from any of my photos.

my appaloosa x welsh cob is also au-natural but i haven't got a photo that really shows off her mane lol

I do a lot of dressage with mine so have to plait - but we rebel by having a hugely long forlock - down to his nostrils - he's a conni x and looks like an over grown thelwel.
