Rather a mixed weather day her in France sunshine followed by showers followed by sun. Despite the weathers unpredictability we managed a very pleasant hack with two friends. Two hrs 5 mins duration 19km cover with an average speed of 9.06km per hr curtsy of the woof wear app :)
Lots of fun gallops and some interesting encounters with a bullock who Armas bravely ignored as he charged up to the line of his fence.
We also stop to say hello to a large Percheron today he made my Spaniard look rather small.
I stopped for them to have a bit of a snif as I felt sorry for the Percheron as she was all alone ;-(

Who else was hacking today and did you meet any thing interesting on your ride ?

I had a lovely hack in the sunshine today, was out for nearly two hours. We met the usual array of Tesco delivery van, tractor and flatbed truck but not much else in the way of traffic. Stopped to chat to a few people along the way and spent the ride admiring the view of the now green Cotswold Hills and all the lovely flowers growing along the lanes.

It's amazing how summer seems to really have arrived now, and I've just spent the last week in Snowdonia where it's at least 3 weeks behind and the bluebells have only just come out, so it certainly looks good with all the foliage on the trees.

France does seem to be having some strange weather, friends in Chamonix have woken up to a good covering of snow down at valley level this morning!!

We did! Waited til after 5pm so it was cooler as it has been pretty warm in Lancashire! We had a lovely time riding the green and leafy lanes and farm tracks... And a good blast up a big field!
Hope this weather is the early stages of a good summer

I did. Took my friend's daughter's 13.2 for his first hack since moving to our yard. He was a superstar as I knew he would be. Felt it was important I took him for a test ride before a child took him out.

Ponies are awesome. He didn't nap at all and was completely unbothered by a bus going past on a country lane.

I did. There is a steam fair in the village, so traffic was heavy in more ways than one ;)
I therefore left it till later and the most exciting thing we had pass us was a fish & chip van.
Had a lovely ride :)

I had an amazing hack this evening :) bluebells and wild garlic out in force, encountered a herd of deer with new born fawns, squeezed through a herd of cows and cantered along the top of the bank with fountains abbey to my right. All in glorious warm sunshine :)

Sounds like some fun rides today. I would have had to stop at the fish & chip van as I am diying for a portion of proper chips with lashings of salt and finger and I still wish they wrapped them in newspaper :o

Fabulous hack this morning lots of streams and ditch work with the TB accomplained by cobface .
Then fantasic canter work on the hill in the most perfect conditions ground perfect views lovely no flys .

Not me:( went in the arena to tire my boy out because he hasnt been able to be rode in a week, had a trot round he wasnt right... hes pelvis is slightly out and also think his poll is! What they can do to themselves in a field

I was out today, had a funny old hack, normally my dog comes too but she's been poorly so stayed home. I forgot that she slays all the pony eating dragons for us so had a very nappy, spinning, reversing strange kind of ride :p

Couldnt ride my boy today as hes lost a shoe - typical timing - but I rode my friends horse out a hack as she was working and wanted him exercised - had a lovely time and he was very well behaved :D Then I rode my other friends horse cause she wanted to see what I thought of him and then another friend offered me a ride on her horse just cause I was there - so a very good riding day for me today - got to try 3 new horses and my boy got the day off :D Gonna be sore tomorrow as have sciatica in my back but cant give up the chance to ride in the sun, we get it so little here

My son took his new 5 year old out for the first time today, he was a star. So relieved, another first out of the way.

Me! And my husband, I was on my newly backed youngster for his first hack since he came home so new territory for him. 45 minutes, lanes and tracks, through the village, met cars, people walking, a woman with a big basket of washing, two (separate) loose dogs and a quad bike which had to brake fairly hard - no problems with anything at all!

I couldnt today because i was delivering my horse ( who i finally sold ) but my lovely sharers and the lovely Antw23uk went out!

We are kinda spoiled for our hacking though :D

I was! I work at a riding school /livery yard at the weekends in the cotswolds so was in the very fortunate position of getting paid to take a hack yesterday, only had one lovely lady riding out with me. So nice to have a good canter, a natter and enjoy the sunshine. Hoping for more of the same today!

Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone!

Me! Dodged the showers and flapping litter in the country park next door, also out-of-control/dogs/children/bicycles/scooters/buggies/dog-ball-throwing devices attached to thoughtless owners/earpiece plugged in runners - you get the picture - negotiated all the Giant Plant Horse Eaters, did 100 transitions and made an elegant progress in the lovely evening sunshine!

Had the most amazing hack yesterday, even had my first gallop in twenty years and nearly peed myself but hey, i did go buy an ex racer! :p

And of course stopping at pub for refreshments :D

Went on a lovely hack yesterday :) was meant to be an hour walk- turned in to 5 1/2 hour super-hack with gallops and jumping fallen trees :D was great fun!

Love looking at the photos :) I didn't take any though :(

Yep, went out this morning on the ginger ex-racer at work :p
The one and only time I had ridden her she took off with me doing twit laps of the school, so was a bit reserved when boss asked if I wanted to join her on a hack, but she was very very good :D Lovely weather for it.

Off to the yard at 2 to take one of my own nags out for a hack, and planning to have my first canter out hacking on her, wish me luck! :D:D

Went out yesterday and had the best hack ever! Was short and sweet but was so lovely to be out getting over confidence problems. :D

Took the pony for a walk on the forest with some friends and their dogs.
She's not backed yet so needs must.:o:D

Though saying that, also put my son up on her properly bareback and we walked round the field for the first time when we got back.
Yeah well, he's young, he'll bounce.

She was fine, rather relaxed about the whole thing, that was unexpected as the leaning over stuff hasn't been all plain sailing.

Had a fabby (and rather strange!) hack with my loan boy today, he kept napping last week and couldn't get him out of the yard, but this week he was fantastic (apart from a few tantrums!). The rather strange thing was was that when we were riding over the common we ride on a really strange looking man was walking towards us with an axe in his hand! He was walking in a really weird way and tbh I think he looked mentally ill...I have a rather overactive imagination so we galloped all the way home!
