Who exercises their horses in the rain?

I ride whatever if I want to , rain wind snow ice, it's no odds to the horse, he would be out in it anyway.

the only time I would not rde because of the weather is if it is actually dangerous, like icy roads or hurricane conditions! The horses have excercise sheets if needed and I have full waterproofs and can layer up to keep warm. Summers are just not long enough or reliable enough to only ride when its nice, I could never keep them fit if I was picky about the weather...thats not to say I alway enjoy it but most of the time once you get going its fine.
p.s I am a reformed fair weather rider

i try to avoid riding in rain as i don't like getting wet but i still would ride in the rain but only if it is light rain because i don't want the horse to be uncomfortable:)

I love riding in the rain its probably my favourite time! Unfortunately silly TB has some sort of aversion to water and gets super grumpy although he is getting used to puddles now :-)

Ride whatever the weather, it's good for the horses to have to cope with different weathers and not in a calm sterile environment. All our youngsters get out whatever the weather.

I ride on the Brecon beacons on my cob manages some wonderful footwork (that I wish we could recreate in a dressage test) to mainly keep is bum to the wind whichever way it's coming from!

Yup - I ride in all but the worst weather. It's ok if you're dressed for it and wear waterproofs and have dry clothes to change into afterwards. I don't really enjoy going out on my own in the rain but will gladly go if someone is with me. We've got a lot of woods where we are so don't get that wet really. Also, mostly it's drizzle rather than heavy rain.

Meeeee! Would barely get to ride if i didnt, especially in winter. Although, does depend on the type of rain ie if its blowing a gale and throwing it down i wouldnt.

I had a lesson in the rain today! Loved it!

I do, if I'm already out in it or if it's not started yet when I've gone out.

Today however, didn't think of the long game in taking the neddy out who detests water when it was due to tip it down about 15 mins into the ride.....And when I say detests, I mean REALLY detests it. Has done since he was born for some reason best known to me. Wasn't the best hack!

If I didn't ride in the rain through the winter I wouldn't get to ride! I might try to avoid heavier downpours but with the right clothing I really don't see a problem with it. Neither me or my horses are going to melt if we get wet! ;)

I ride in the rain, thats what raingear was invented for. I have raingear for horses too, in the form of an exercise sheet, rainproof!! Delightfully, my daughter also is willing to ride in the rain, she puts on the rain gear and also has an exercise sheet for Joey. (not bad for 7!!). She loves riding so much, when it's cold, her hands are nearly falling off, but she'll ride anyway!!!
Horses are out in the rain in the field, so I dont see why not ride out in the rain.
