who feedss alpha a oil

Hi, we dont feed our pony cereals or any feeds with molasses as they send him fizzy - feed him simple system lucie cobs but was thinking of trying alpha a oil as he needs to gain condition and it doesnt contain molasses or mint coating so hopefully not bring on the fizzy?

Some native types fizz up on alfalfa. There have been instances where natives are exported from the UK to the USA (where alfalfa is fed more widely than in the UK) Some of the previously 'bombproof' laid back natives went loopy to the point that the new owners have demanded their money back or threaterned legal action as the horses were not as described/significantly different creatures!

I feed Hi-Fi with Simple Systems "Lucie Nuts" and also their Non Molassed beet nuts. Also I add some pasture nuts and if need a bit more oomph I add some Pasture Mix but the Lucie nuts are fab. You soak them like beet. It is Lucerne and I have never had a problem with any horse I have losing weight over the winter period. Even my 18 year old retired TB.
Think the Alpha A Oil is more for horses in fairly hard work so was lead to believe.

My mare gets Alfa A Oil - its never fizzed her up and keeps her condition beautifully

I feed Alfa A Oil... I do actually mix it in with Alfa A Original as my mare will not eat it on its own and does not get any other feed other than some TopSpec in it.

i have just started feeding my TB mare in Alfa A Oil, and she's no different in herself

It heated mt tb up a bit and didnt seem to bit any condition on

But it does depend on the horse entirely.plenty of people love it for condition without fizz

We changed from Alfa-A Oil to Alfa-A Lite and he is less fizzy now so he's off his calmers and he's looking very shiny

I've just gone over to AA Oil for the winter, still had a full bag of AA orignal, so they're getting half & half at mo. I haven't noticed any behavioural changes.

Doesn't add fizz to mine... as it is oil it is slow release energy.

I heard that it has been know to fizz some horses up. Used to feed it to my ID TB x and when I took him off it, he was calmer but could have been other factors. Why not just add corn oil to regular alpha a?

i have mine on it and dont notice any diff, gives him a lovely shine on his coat though!!

I have a fizzy, whizzy tense pony who I can't feed molasses or mix, or nuts too, but he is absolutely fine on Alfa Oil. He's quite a poor doer but does really well on 1 scoop AA Oil twice a day and ad lib haylage. Also feed it to a sharp Tb X and hasn't effected him either.

My horse is pretty fizzy normally and when I put him on this he stayed the same and put on condition really quickly and looked and rode brilliantly.
