£14 for wash and reproof, and it's seasonal, so theres always a rush at the end of spring and an even bigger one when Autumn put's in, because everyone forgets to get thiers done
I don't get my done very often, i'm not usually very organised with stuff like that but the two i've sent in just looked like they needed it and with winter approaching thought i'd best crack on!
I'm not sure how popular it is to be honest, but personally I find its easier sending them in for someone else to do than have to faff trying to buy the right products! They're ready to collect within a week usually so very handy.
Hope this helps.
Well I put a status on Facebook saying that my husband and I had jet washed a load of my old rugs for selling and loads of my horsey friends asked me to do their's! They are paying us an amount towards the detergents, water, electricity and our time we have agreed £8 for wash £12 for wash and reproof and we are praying for a dry weekend!
Very helpful thank you, I have a small empty shop and I am wondering whether a 'horse laundry' could be a possibility. Any other ideas would be welcomed x
I used to have a horse laundry, so hope these comments help
Even if you are in a horsey area, you do need to do a lot of marketing - we did fliers to as many local yards as we could find (most not online so had to get info via word of mouth and detective work).
That plus posters on local feedstore/garage/tackshop/petshop/supermarket/postoffice/shop noticeboards
It is seasonal, and even when you think you would be expecting a deluge of washing/reproofing at certain times, some horse owners are not very proactive
If you can offer pick up/delivery it helps
If you can find someone to do a repair service it really helps
Target professional yards (they go through a lot of saddle pads and bandages/boots as well as rugs) in addition to DIY yards, bulk discounts work
We used to wash pet beds as well so offer services to local boarding kennels
After washing product costs and electricity as well as initial outlay on an industrial machine, there might not be as much profit as you might first think, so have a good think about your pricing (and check out your competition, bigger laundries have economies of scale and often their prices seem ridiculously cheap - good customer service is a way to keep customers when you might be more expensive!)
