we have a small hayshed at the end of that stables, keep a couple of bales at a time in it. My friend went in to get hay yesterday, walked backwards with an armful, stood on 'something' which started squealing and biting at her foot, it was huge RAT!! it must have been hiding under the pallets. it was totally winded so quick witted friend grabbed a shovel and finished it off.
so glad it wasnt me

I keep two very good cats so only ever find dead rats, mice, voles, moles and even squirrels. They do their job well and better than having to get the shovel out!

My dog automatically checks my haybarn (and everyone else's ) so thankfully I don't have that problem yuk!
