I hack most days on my own, I go in the school after the hack a few days a week, I do get my horses to work properly on a hack same as in the school really.
we mainly hack out we dont have the luxury of a school unless were hire the local one for a fee. I will say my friend broke her youngester in 3 years ago and all she does is hack out, the horse has had all its education so far that way and is doing well
Havn't hacked out in 20 years; hate it! But we do ride in a 100 acre park regularly, so suppose that's the same as? We mostly work in a display area, or on film sets. The horses will go pretty much anywhere and arn't phased by traffic. I won't take them on the roads, 'tho: drivers are nuts.
I hack out every day not allowed to ride in the fields unless it's not rained for days (which is literally never here in cumbria!!) and don't have a school. took my mare in a friend's school in the summer, and she found it rather boring! ...she's normally very responsive and forward going when out hacking, and as soon as we entered the school I could just feel the enthusiasm drain from her!
I never used to hack before moving to Cumbria, as we had to cross an extremely busy road just to get out the yard, where the speed limit was crazy and there were bad accidents normally on a weekly basis. I do quite alot of road hacking, and the locals with tractors esc are all very considerate, but we do come across some very ignorant people whilst hacking on the roads....although that's a completly different story though!
