WhO HAS DOG SIBLINGS AND HOW ALIKE ARE THEY

Funnily, we had a father and son and a mother and daughter (unrelated lines) who used to fight, terribly.
The Asbo twins would have a little grizzle at each other when one pushed the other too far, but it was all mouth and no trousers kind of stuff, even though they sounded like they were killing each other. One of our parent/youngster fights ended up with a dog having to have his eye popped back in by the vet :o

CC that sounds horrendous, I cant imagine what It would be like to have an eye pop out. Did the eye return to its normal vision.?

Where Darcy & Diesel miss out is they are so wrapped up in each other playwise that they dont play with other dogs. Even if they are on their own with another friends dog this dog can instigate play and they dont seem to get it. Obviously their lack of socialisation when younger is a lot to do with it but its their dependence on each other which is their biggest drawback.

He seemed to get on OK. We got a new home for him after that, as you can imagine. His father was ruined by my Mum, he was very over-protective.

The young dog was also very spoiled in his new home and was renamed 'Jewel' which I always thought must have been a bit deflating for his ego :o

JEWEL say no more.:(

I hope no one on here has called their dog that.

I think Diesel is a pretty crap name but he came with it and the only names we could think of to rhyme was teasel & weasel:( so hes stuck with Diesel.

I've had litter brothers, they were bred for racing so i didn't adopt them till they were nearly 2. Its not unusual in racing for them to live with siblings way past the 8wks that's normal for pet dogs. The boys were opposites really, Hector was outgoing, friendly, laid back & mischievous and Throp's quieter, lazy & bit of a nervous nellie at times. They got on well but were still independent and both liked to play. Throp always picked things up quicker at training, Hector was smart in other ways, he just took longer to work out what was being asked. I think Throp could've been mistaken as having a poor upbringing rather than it just being his personality had we not had Hector & known his background.

We lost Hector this year and as their half sister (by dam) had been up for adoption a while & fitted what we were looking for we decided to bring her home. Hattie's quite like Hector, though she's not as laidback, it takes her a while to settle anywhere and is more attention seeking than both Hector & Throp, she'd love to be a lapdog!
