Who has got their heating on?

Nope - far too early and price of heating oil due to come down in October so will wait a bit longer!

Fleece blankets on the sofa and layers in my house

Seriously?! I ordered 1000 litres today, oh bum! No heating for us yet, I am really tight. OH has learnt to put jumper and slippers on instead of the heating!

I have the wood burner on- but mainly cos it's new and we are slightly obsessed with it! Hoping not to use the central heating much now we have it. OH drives me mad with the heating - he will put it on and then quickly get too hot and open all the windows?!

Nope no heating on yet(kent),still haveing the windows open because of OH,he doesnt feel the cold nor does my son,ive had a couple of nights were ive been tempted but just jumped under the duvet and im sorted.:)

I haven't got the heating on - but I have the cats on :D Both of them are insisting on sitting on me and are squabbling about the best place (chest is best as I can reach them for massage, legs not so good!!! :p )

I can't believe just 2 weeks ago it was in the low 30's daily. It is low 20's and blue skies so ok for t shirt in the day, but getting chilly at night

I find it hard as even with blankets and lots of socks, my feet are freezing sitting on the sofa. Also my hands get cold and my nails turn blue. I will hold out until October though!!!

Mine! Been on the last two days . Even D has been wearing socks and slippers and a fleece.

Edwardian house, so sash windows and cellars and no cavity insulation. Brrrr.

Must remember to order coal and look into some sort of solid fuel fire for the dining room.

I`ve had the heating on for an hour these last two nights, not least to dry the washing as I don`t have a dryer.

Unbelievably, I had to scrape ice off my car windscreen this morning. I thought it was condensation so put the wipers on but ended up having to get out and scrape it off. Unbelievable for September.

Not on here yet but we have storage heaters so try not to have them on more than a couple of months a year as they are expensive to run so we try to get through to Dec if we can

same here, nightmare bloomin things, warm all day when no ones home and then cold by the evening:rolleyes:
i have had the woodburner lit a couple of mornings just to take the chill off downstairs but it's not really been that cold yet, wood is free though so i don't worry about lighting it:D

Would be lighting the fire if I hadn't forgotton to get it swept :( (being done in 2 weeks time). But I caved in and had the heating on for a couple of hours the last 2 nights. I hate being cold

Ive caved in :(

Is on for an hour and a half in the mornings to take the chill off, only on for an hour at night though. Hopefully I'll not be putting it on anymore than that for the next few weeks.

We have a wood boiler as we thought it would be cheaper and more environmentally friendly than oil. Such a bad move. Our barn is huge with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. Running the boiler is as much work as taking on two more horses and when winter is at its coldest the logs and brickettes cost us £400 a month! And we still never have warm radiators in the morning. :( So I have asked a couple of companies to come and quote us to install an oil boiler and tank. In the meantime we will have to be cold.

We have but only because OH is a wuss. Seem to have spent every weekend since we moved here logging but he's now wanting the heating as well as the log burner. Dogs prefer the heating on as the log burner is very, very scary!
It's our first winter on oil (were on LPG previously) so don't know how to gauge how much we will use and am turning the heating down every time I walk past the thermostat!

Not yet, but am hidden under TWO blankets and just cosy :) the horse has a rug on! :o

Watching Willy Wonka on tv and the rain thro the patio :) winter Is coming

On for the first time today :( children are complaining of being cold :o I spend most of my time in the kitchen which is warm because of the Aga, but the rest of the house is definitely a little brusk!
