Weather almost perfect (a little chilly!) for riding this morning!

Out at 8.30, me and friend were out for a good couple of hours and on the way back, we saw a family of buzzards, made the morning! :D

Was just good to be in the saddle, saw others riding out too, enjoying the sun.

:D

Who else has been out and about??

Up a bit later than usual & down to yard by 7.30 (car reading -4!)

Did chores etc with the sun out  but decided my small paddock was too hard to ride in as much of it is in the shade (great for hot summer days), so managed to get nice friend up the lane from me to lend me the use of her school.
Had a good session with the lovely Tarrsteps & managed to do more on HF than previously, my battered leg also stood up to more than previously too :)

Tack now cleaned & sozzie sarnie scoffed, now to demolish easter egg :)

Me. I've been left in charge of a couple of gee gees as their owners are away. One I help look after anyway, she was my boy's fieldmate and her owner hasn't been very well. The other belongs to a lad who is home from Hartpury for the Easter Hols. He's a 17.1 KWPN chestnut showjumper job. I rode him last night for the first time and had several people come up and say how great we (horse and me, not lad and me, obviously) looked together - which is lovely considering I have hardly ridden for the last 6 months and my bum has forgotten how to position itself in the saddle. Horse is a sweetie, too. Big floppy lips waffle in your ear when you adjust his rugs.

I just lunged him this morning in the EquiAmi for 20 mins - will ride later for a gentle bimble around (he's currently in 24/7 so needs exercising twice per day). The sun was shining and the birds singing. He was an angel. The rest of the yard decided to hatch a plan to kidnap said horse for me as we were obviously meant to be.

Which sounds soppy and daft, but it really lifted my spirits.

Me, me, me :) up early to muck out then tacked up and left the yard for 8am. Had a lovely sunny ride out - my girl was snorting and spooking at yet to melt snow - you'd think she'd be used to it by now :) just need the temperatures to rise a bit now...

I cleaned the muck heap area because I was in a mega cleaning mood, didn't get to ride out though because rodes were icy :( Hopefully will be able to go out tomorrow! :D

Me! I took my filly for a nice inhand walk around the fields and she was so chilled, even when the horses in the paddock started running around.

Me!! Cold but sunny!!

Did full muck out whilst waiting for friend to arrive  clock change :D then we went for a lovely amble upto Greenham :)

Was SO lush want to do it all again this avo!!

Just moved to a fab yard with great facilities, put my young coblet in the walker while I mucked out, then did a bit of groundwork in the sand school, turned him out and now back home to eat some chocolate:)

I went for a nice long hack yesterday so I took the old boy into the school and did lots of bendy work around the jumps that had been left out.

Then I got on the big lad for a bit and managed to pop a few jumps - the first in 5 months. :D

Took daughter and dolly out showjumping this morning (left house at 7am, kept mouth shut to oh that it would normally be 6am!!!) Lovely sunny day, happy (if not a little excitable!) Dolly to be on a day trip!

And they won :-)

Now back in bed with heated blanket on and a hot vimto, I think in getting soft in my old age!!!

We hacked round the village, even managed to sneak a canter through the field, ground has dried up a bit thank goodness.
Then returned to the yard for the farm bake off... 6 cakes, from nests to simnel cake. YUM :) I didn't win though :(

Lemon cake anyone? Chocolate? I've got A LOT to get rid of!

Lemon cake please! We were out at the crack of 10.30! Riding at 8.am on a Sunday?? Had a lovely saunter round country lanes. Saw some scary pigs, Pete was cool if a bit giraffey past them. I got off and walked a bit to ease his back, had a long lay off last year. Just lovely being back on board.

I've had a fab day. Rode at 8.30 as the world was waking up. Stables cleaned out, fields rolled and my muck heap is being emptied as I type. Little things please, but it feels great. Lol. Still got no grass but at least my fields have flat dry mud now. And tonight I'm off out with hubby for a pint or two!

Absolutely glorious day! :D

1) Thoroughly groomed my boy and got out a lot of winter hair so he looked rather gorgeous and shiny by the end of it :)
2) Moved 10 bales of hay round to my storage and sorted all my feed out and tidied storage.
3)Tacked up and was about to leave yard when......
4) A woman ran into the yard with a horse and thrust it at me whilst saying her friend had fallen on the lane and was hurt. Friend gets in car and drives after woman I deal with horse trying to find a spare headcollar to tie it up. Meanwhile my gelding who is a nosey parker and gets rather excited by any commotion is shrieking his head off. Friend comes back with injured woman who is concussed and thinks her elbow might be broken. Friends husband who is there says he will take her straight to hospital. The other riders turn up with her horse and we sort them out and get them on their way.
5) At last I can now get out for my much looked forward to sunny hack
6) Hack for over two hours around the park and thoroughly enjoy ourselves meeting lots of friendly people riding and walking
7) Get back turn out and muck out
8) Home for late lunch and as someone sorting ponio out this evening so dont have to go back
9) Now to type up yesterdays dressage results for my riding club and get them on the internet and sort out all the dressage show gear ready for our next event.

Apart from the mid-morning drama I had a fab day!

Me! This morning i was up the yard for 9 and was riding by 9.30! I got on on the first attempt with no faffing around, i finally think i may have cracked the mounting problem. Then went for a lovely walk into the village and back. Cant stop smiling.

Our old lady who has been lame since before the snow and has seen vet and farrier both twice, with x-rays nd still no proper diagnosis although concensus is that it must be an abscess, went out almost sound this morning.
I've managed to finally get my car out of the drift it has been in for the last week and we've created a channel through the minMatterhorn in the yard, so that if we need to we can get horses through.
So although we've no chance of riding just yet a while, our morning was pretty good too.

Had a lovely morning. Dragged OH out on his bike and me, him and pony went exploring.
Unfortunately pony seems to get a bit attached to the bike and when he sees a fun downhill to go belting down, pony wants to go too!

Done four this morning, one is mine! The sun was lovely, the fields are drying nicely and nothing was frozen solid:p The tennis elbows weren't ideal, so no riding today, but I'm sure I'll manage to break into an Easter egg:D

only went up and turned the boys out this morning. Been to the pub for a scrummy sunday roast and now chilling on the sofa in front of the log burner watching True Grit ... then it is off up the yard to ride The Cob, clean out the stables. I might even wash The Cobs tail, but that might be a step too far on this lazy sunday.

Happy Easter to all on the Forum, by the way ....:D

I had a great morning, up bright and relatively early, bought my loan horse :D and then took him out for a celebratory hack and saw a pretty handsome Muntjac deer (buck), also saw some strange birds I'd never seen before, so going to see if I can find out what they are. Mucked out some of my yard owners horses cause I had the time to spare and I'm a nice livery, and yeah just generally pottered about. Lovley weather, albeit a bit chilly.

I haven't had a horsey morning, rather a horsey afternoon. I put them out at 7.45 this morning, although they obviously had no concept of the clocks going forwards and one was still asleep!! I then went on a fantastic 11 mile run around the bridleways and trails of North Nibley on the Cotswold escarpment (plenty of times wishing I was on the horse, big hills!), then it was back home for a cuppa and honey on toast and back to the yard.

Arrived to find the shitland had escaped, again, but everything else in order, so did the stables then finally got on board at 3. Lovely quiet hack for an hour and a half, pretty much all at walk, and enjoying the sunshine and views.

Now, back to those wonderful bridleways of this morning, I'm going to hatch a plan to get up there somehow, even though I don't have a lorry. I could hack there, but it would be too far to explore and hack home so am thinking of doing a B@B stay for my horse!

Yes, another great horsey day here. Lesson at 8.30am so an early start. Then turned the grey mare out naked to get a good roll as she is casting for Britain. Then mucked out. Then dismantled the remains of my big hay bale and filled about 12 bedmax bags with hay for the week. Then a quick visit to the tack shop to look for a birthday pressie for my pal. Came back and brought mare in - still grey not brown! Decided she had probably forgotten she'd been ridden earlier so took her for a short hack with some mates. Another one who finds snow patches strangely spooky!
So a good day all round - my only question - was that enough exercise to offset the large smarties easter egg I have just scoffed :D
Happy easter everyone!

Me *puts hand up* I did :D
Took Nell for another solo hack and she was a complete poppet, it is like she has been doing it all her life, it was lovely, sun was out, bar the odd idiot driver it was all good
