I seem to spend most of my life poo picking as mine are all out 24/7 and think I am going to get someone in to do it. Is there anyone who has someone to do just the poo picking (I want to keep doing my other jobs) and can you tell me -
How many horses over what acreage at a time
How many days per week they do it
How long it takes them
What they get paid????

home baked muffins for those who reply (but only if I get someone in to do my poo picking, else I won't have time to bake them!)

Only when I go away - and its either pooh-picking or mucking out depending on the time of year, meaning I dont have to play catch up when I get back home.

I whizz round 2 x per day, so it doesn't take long to do, tho this gets a bit dodgy on work days in the winter....

I do it daily, and would want it done daily as 2 horses on 1 acre at a time (rotated round multiple 1 acre paddocks). Takes me about half hour a day I guess. Not sure I'll be able to get someone in to do such a small amount of work per day?

I poo pick for someone! I get paid £10 per hour, takes me about 1.5 hrs per day (along with trough scrubbing) and i use a "hoover" which is amazingly good but quite heavy to haul around, it drives itself in straight lines but needs heaving round corners! I'd love to be able to pay someone to do mine!

I wish - Nobody offers that facility at our yard.

I have 2 out 24/7 on an acre paddock, takes me 10/15 minutes each morning, however, whe ive been away it takes about 2 hours to clear a weeks worth :( wish i could get a poo hoover :D

I pay to have mine done, but only when I'm away on hols, or business more than 2 days, so it is intermittent. One of the other owners at the yard has an 18 yr old daughter, they both come to the yard everyday anyway to do their own horse (so no extra travel) and I usually give her about £3/£3.50 a day to do poo picking for 2 horses out 24/7. So for a week (7 -8 days) I'd give her £25. Don't mind that once in a while but certainly couldn't afford it full time! She is great with my 2, and often brings them in for a groom as well, so I don't begrudge it one little bit.

It seems I do it for all the owners of the other horses out with mine. Lazy barstewards. Perhaps I should charge for the service and put the earnings towards a physio session or two since my back is wrecked.

I have Judy the daihatsu who helps with mine, well - she tows the trailer that I put the poo in at least :D

This is a new developement for us, before all we had was wheelbarrows and shanks' pony to collect it - a challenge over a very hilly 6-12 acres  We do get it harrowed at least once a year too though, so its not all manky :)
