Just seen a previous thread and someone mentioned there horse is 43!!!!
My mum had her oldie PTS in jan, she was 33 - arab x welsh

So how old is your oldie and what breeding is he/she??

Here is my mums old girl before she was PTS, aged 33 here she is bless her, we retired her when she was 26 :) she was still as hot to ride as ever, she had cusions diesease and COPD in her last years.

I was thinking it was about time we had a roll call for the oldies!

Mine is 35 and Arab x New Forest, I have owned him for 31 years.

I think we have quite a few over 40s on here :)

ETS - for most of his life he was the perfect pony but now he is older he is just so opinionated and rude!

My old girl was 43 when PTS. She retired from jumping at 37 and riding at 38. She was welsh/arab we think and started her ridden career herding sheep on the welsh mountains as a 2 year old - poor wee thing. Still didn't seem to do her much harm. She was a nut to ride always but honest, safe and brill.:D:)

Hobby (Cosmic Hobby Horse, c**p name, I didn't choose it! :o) is now a 33 year old TB mare, owned by my father (bought for me) since the 80's!
Then, winning one class and being named reserve champion of a show

Now, still incredibly loved, on loan (but still kept at mine) to someone who I know will love her for the rest of her life... even if she is a grumpy old lady! :D
Still does dressage, in the bottom pic, she won the veteran division (dressage tests averaged over a season) as well as winning 2 tests on the day!

Reine's nearly a 30-something horse, but not quite - she's 29. Was a broodmare all her life (never been broken to ride) and came to me age 21 to retire. She's now content being a complete pasture ornament, boss of the herd, and occasionally being sat on by my young niece and nephew whilst being led round in hand.

A little grey welsh pony at my yard got pts a couple of years ago at 43 years old, from treading on a nail of all things! He was still a cheeky so and so when he wanted to be!

My little man was pushing 40 i think when he was pts 3 years ago.

As a younger pony he was really bolshy and the night he died he carted me off down the field! was like he had to do it one last time

I have a 30 something mare.. she has no teeth now and proving hard to keep weight on so I fear this may be her last summer :(

My old mare is a TBx pony & she's 37. My grandad bought her from the farmer next door in 1976 for £200! She was still in work & winning sj until she did a tendon out hacking at the age of 29. She hacked out until she was around 34.

She still has all her teeth & can eat hay & hard food, & she is still a cheeky madam.

50??? WOW - I thought my old boy had done well to reach the age of 43 before having to be PTS. Took him out for an hours hunting when he was 37 and he beat a four year old in condition and turnout the same year.

I don't have an oldie but I know there was this 138 pony on the top jumping circuit and was still jumping 1.10 at 37! This amazed me :)

I don't suppose you know his name/colour? The family where I keep my ponies had a top jumping pony jumping well up to that age. In Shropshire if that helps - under the name Membury.

Well mine's a positive youngster at only 33:)

He hunted till he was 29 and was ridden until last year, when he stumbled and fell on the road. I didn't want that to happen again even though the vet said he was fine to ride and I shouldn't worry. He had happily bronked, as ususal, across a field just before his tumble.

I've had him since he was 4 and although he is happy in the field and chases around, he misses going out.
