Am feeling all DIY-ey and want to make my trailer shipshape over the winter. Mine is the bog standard space trekka- no extras . I have bought some rugs racks to put up over where the horses behinds go, so that will add some storage. I find its hard getting my saddles in and out the door so would like to make my own tack locker in the horse area.
Does anyone have pics if they have a more all singing model? Am also thinking I could put a bench seat in the tack room.
Do any companies make cupboards that could be used as lockers?
Just want some inspiration!

My Sister has an equitrex and that has had a tack locker added to the back. I'll take some pics for you next time I'm there if you want. If you put a bench seat in, don't forget to have storage underneath it as well.

Ive got a show trekka and am upgrading to a Star Trekka. In my current trailer ive got the tack locker on the passenger side of the trailer - it holds 2 saddles and bridles plus grooming kits etc. Ive got 2 rug racks inside the horse bit where you plan to put yours. Ive got lots of storeage in the living with cupboard under the sink, wardrobe etc, plus table and double bunks.
I got talking to my feed person who does kitchens but has recently done up a few basic equitreks plus converting his sons 3 star. Hes put cupboards along the partition between the living and the horse bit. Double fold out bed on the opposite side. Hes put everything in it like wardrobe, dvd/tv etc but he goes away for a few months at a time with training etc. Hes also put a shower in the horse bit - hes put the piping in the corner of the trailer so that the horses cant get to it but it doubles as a horse and human shower!
You could get cupboards etc from BandQ

Ooh, lucky you! How come you are upgrading? The show trekkas look pretty spacious compared to mine and then the star trekkas look palacial LOL. The dealership only stocked the basic model when I got mine but I dont think I could afford a bigger one, hence the DIYing.
I think a few cupboards are in order today! Do you have any pics of the ones that have been done by your feed guy?

sorry for late reply.
Only upgrading as we want more of the extras and we cant have them added on from Equitrek direct. Also we want the bigger living plus toilet, fridge, battery electrics etc as we stayed away quite a bit this year and found that we shouldve gone for things like this.
I havent seen the feed guys son for a little while (he my horse dentist) but can see if I can pop over to his and get some piccie sif you want (thats if hes not away)

I have the show trekka and love it. I have the outside tack locker on mine and think it's great. I would have liked to have the groom's locker as well, but didn't want to wait that long for a trailer! I haven't stayed in the living yet but find that, although it looks basic, it has a lot more storage space than I thought it would.

I was warned away from the Star Trekka because of the additional weight. With two horses in it, a Discovery only just had enough power.

I've only added a few touch lights (the battery powered ones that you push to turn on) and a coat hook on the back of the door. I would think that a camp cot and sleeping bag would be fine for night and a little camp stove with a stand would be as good as the hob in the show trekka.
