Sorry bit of a rant!!

I’m fed up of hating my office job! Before you say it ....I know I’m lucky to have a job!!!

I need some inspiring ideas!! I want a job that I love that also pays the bills!!

What do you do?!

I love my job! I'm a self-employed singing teacher, but also teach flute (and piano every now and again). It's taken a while to build up so that I can afford to live, but the hard work is worth it and it works well with Genie.

despite not feeling the love somtimes - i actually do really enjoy my job.
I am a science teacher in a 11-18 mixed school in a poor area, however after a few years of battling we r on th eup so fingers crossed for us- oh yeah and the summer hols are lush xxx

I love my job !!
After years of working 40+ hours a week for barely more than minimum wage and my OH being made redundant from one engineering job after another we decided to set up our own business in property maintenance,he does most of the hard work hehe and i run the office side which means as long as I have my diary and phone with me I can spend all day with the kids and the ponies.
Dont get me wrong we still work lots of ours, probably more than before and when work is quiet we have worries but our lives are so much easier and flexible now I would recommend it to anyone who is in a position to do so.

I love my job when im not being bugged by my radio when im trying to do my job.
Im a porter at the hospital, its brill i see so many diffrent things and people, but the bloody radios do my head in!

You lot are depressing me!!

I absolutely love my dreary office job, sitting around answering my phone all day, being bored and filling in VAT returns for people! Fan-bloody-tastic! NOT!

Only plus side = Can mooch around on HHO all day!!

I'm not sure love is quite the right word, but I really enjoy my job, although the commuting is a pain! I work as a Librarian at the public library in the Barbican Centre in London - really enjoy dealing with the public and meeting so many different people (although some are quite obnoxious!)

Oooh you work in the Barbican- how cool! I work as a Marketing Assistant for a University writing magazine articles, press releases etc. Its very fun but only PT so having to look for something else soon but nothing about in that field down here

I just graduated with my MA yesterday so should start to think about career options!

Playing with ponies all day. Does that really count as a job? It shouldn't, but it beats sitting around answering phones, or getting coffee...

That sounds like the perfect job!! What I used to do basically!!

Why did I ever give it up to work in an office!!!???

I grow plants in the thousands. In the summer - when we have one - it is blooming hot in the greenhouses- think 2 weeks back 49c in a couple of them . In the winter cold and damp as we only have frost protection. I do enjoy my work in the main but I am already a season or two ahead of most people in 3 weeks time I start planting a crop for next March. We have finished with the summer and already done the autumn planting.

I'm a geek

I'm a software designer at t-mobile. Working on the middleware that connects the back-end billing systems to the front end websites that sell stuff! Told you I was a geek!
I love it - mainly cos its problem solving.
Just been promoted to "senior designer" actually. Feels like all the hard work at Uni etc was worth it (i'm now 28).
I don't like commuting an hour every morning & evening though.

I'm a poo picker up'er! I look after other peoples horses at our yard at home (full liveries)

I also do B&B's, much better money than horses, and no poo picking up'ing!

I love my job - I work for a charity and it's a lovely place to work, lovely team of people, and rewarding
smile.gif
I also do equestrian photography in my spare time and I love that too

I love my job assitant manger of a country store over see the horse section its fab although most of my wages get spent there, but my girlie is the best dressed horse on the yard ha ha! even if we dont get out much x

I'm an import co-ordinator and i really enjoy the job, just wish i could get into importing something horsey, rather than bloomin worktops and flooring!!! lol!!
smile.gif

I love my job too, i work for an equine college teaching a course for disabled people. Plus i'm off from middle of May to the middle of Sept!!!

I'm a boring HR Manager in a not so boring automotive manufacturing business. Not always a pleasant job and its long hours but I do enjoy it for the most part and it pays for the neddy and dogs to live a life of luxury

Great post, find it fascinating to see what everyone does for a living

I'm with chickeninabun, I hate my job too
frown.gif
Stuck in an office 8.45-5.00, the girls i get on with have all been made redundant, so is just me in an office full of grown ups that i don't particularly talk to
frown.gif
Tis very repetitive and boring.

I know i should be greatful, but would prefer to be doing something i enjoy

I do the "play with ponies all day" thing...but running a stud includes all the fun stuff like digging post holes and fencing, hoof trims, feeding up... along with all the more normal "farming" type stuff...sitting on the tractor for a week isn't as much fun as delivering foals (the hours are just as bad) and mixing 2000lts of spray to do the paddocks isn't as good as taking one of the stallions out for a ride in the bush, but I love it and wouldn't go back to a "real job" again!

I love my job. I have gone from 40 hours stuck in an office in fornt of a screen like a battery hen to:

Part-Time Gardener - local gardens which I do whenever I fancy and fit in around the horsey.

Part-Time Animal Portrait and Landscape Artist - with a studio in my garden. Not much work but all my commissions come in through repeat requests and recommendations.

And how did I get here - 30 years of yuk and then got made redundant !! YIPEE!!

I Love it.

Im a nurse practitioner in a gp's surgery....

I normally enjoy my job, it pays me very well....right now I am deffo NOT feeling the love as I am trying to manage a Swine Flu outbreak and we have 14,000 patients.

Think I need a lie down.,......

I love my job... I am an events manager in a Hotel, I spend my days organising weddings and parties! Trained as an accountant but found that a bit dry....
Groomed for a dressage rider for a year between uni and starting accountancy exams to get the 'horsey bug' out of my system- it didn't work, but I have a decent balance now
I also spend the time I am not working grooming and riding for my pro boyfriend and trying to organise his yard, doing their accounts, etc
