Maybe if you stipulate then some of the HHO'ers with local rescues near may know if there is that specific type in a particular rescue and some do transport runs to help get the dog from A to B, obs an initial meet would be good and distance is a bummer:p but worth a try.

Well Ive already done it, Scrannyan, I tipped her off about Dylan from the same rescue I linked. Unfortunately he had been promised to the police as a potential sniffer dog and has gone on trial.(He was found not guilty:D)

Like all rescues, they are overrun and I know Rose is up to her neck in dogs, I would foster for her but have friends dogs staying here through September. A lot of Roses dogs are ugly so they do tend to stick, this is not a criticism merely an observation.

I think its a good idea anyone wanting a particular rescue dog if they say on here and we can then all look out for a suitable dog.
 
I'm looking for a small dog (dog would be preferable but I think my little bitch would be OK with other female). Current dog is a 2yr old, 7.5kg cairn X so something of a similar size and age would be good. Must be Ok with other dogs (including when walked on a lead), Ok with children (young, dog savvy visiting kids only), Ok to travel by car (could crate), Ok with livestock as we live in the country, able to be left for short periods (4 hours absolute max).

Would be it a good idea to have some kind of pro-forma of requirements ie essential, preferable, not bothered as to certain things??
 
A good idea Cayla. CazD, probably a bit far for you but there are 4 rescues within 10 miles of me in North Shropshire, and I think there are a couple on South Shropshire /Herefordshire border too.

Thanks - do you have details of the ones closest to me? My current dog is from Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue but they've got nothing suitable at the moment - not that I'm in any hurry.
