If you could pick any event horse (past or present) to ride, who would it be?

I think mine is a draw between Darien Powers and Be Fair. Both stunningly beautiful and cat like xc horses!

Whose the grey that won the gold at the olympics? Blank moment.... but him!!

(for me anyway) otherwise Armada, Idalgo or Opposition Buzz!!!

Gosh, great question!
I'd like a cross between Miners Frolic and Over To You please - as tough as OTY, as trainable and utterly brilliant in all 3 phases as MF.
If it's got to be just the one, then what the hell, Murphy Himself please. I think he'd suit my style of riding! still the only horse I have ever seen that has made the 4*s look like a PN course!
Or, i'd love my best ever girl, Skylarker, back... but with a trainable brain for dressage. We knew each other inside out and the trust was absolute.

Marius Voigt Logistick!
And my Poppy has the exact same grandsire

( Ok, quite a distant connection, but still, quite cool!)
He does lack a little Pizzaz, but does the job so reliably.

Zeb :_) (biased as he's my horse in a lifetime)

but Minor's Frolic as he is my sort of horse, I will need a good think about this though!

Brit would be one I'd love, but also Pheobe Buckley's Little Tiger, although I wouldn't be able to ride either of them! They are both little mares who look so much fun to ride cross country

Probably Priceless. But wouldnt turn down Miners Frolic. However, the horse that I would actually like to get on & ride XC would be Barrys Best.

Trying to think of other horses that I have idolised in the past.

Of the old greats it would have to be Charisma and Be Fair and Murphy Himself, a giant of a horse who always made it look so easy (from the sidelines, I'm sure he put years on his riders!) Present day it has to be Lenamore and Over To You, they look such fun for Caroline and Jeanette.

I loved Reddy teddy he was just such an athlete. I also loved Primmores Pride he just made it look easy. For me as a rider it was Bahlua who was the ultimate. He just looked such a generous horse.

Priceless. He just galloped and jumped, galloped and jumped . . .

You wouldn't get me on Murphy Himself for all the tea in China. Far, far better riders than me have said the same thing.:) I figure he's one of the lucky ones that found the right people at the right time - I suspect most horses like him end up at the other end of the spectrum. I might have a sit on him in an indoor, with all the doors closed, after Ian sorted him, perhaps with a concrete block tied to his leg . . .

I love Done To Order- that gorgeous little dun horse who Piggy French rode. I used to loan a pony from the lady who owned him, and thought that he was absolutely the best thing ever- especially XC.

either primmores pride, or galander sau ver jere (guessing the spelling from how its said)

it was nicolas touzaints ride that he won the europeans on in 03..

I am, as usual, going to be very very sad here

Ikor De Kersalic is my dream eventer - I used to own him, I evented him a few times then had to sell him due to lack of money, but he was amazing and I LOVED him

He was a real point and shoot schoolmaster (although you wouldnt think that looking at our record
