I wouldn't lead them together if there was a chance of this happening. I have three ponies who have definite pals, the chestnuts are ok together but if I try the younger chestnut with the grey I would be asking for trouble. Thankfully the two chestnuts are fine so I usually lead them and the old grey comes up with us unlead!
