Who needs a saddle when the sun is out ;-) This is my neighbours daughter playing with Armas in the garden yesterday.

Well, how very pleasing was that little video! Happy, balanced horse, enjoying himself. Free to use his beauty and power for the mutual delight of horse and rider. Lovely young rider who has a natural classical seat: no restraining or blocking of the horse'' natural impulsion by either her or any gadgetry. Well done.

He he looks like great fun though am the other way round i prefer barebacking in the winter so i can steal my horses body heat to keep my bum and legs warm :-)

All together now..."On white horses, let me ride away, dada da da dada da da da"

who remembers that during the school holidays of yesteryear!! Beautiful video, lovely rider.

I shall pass on your comments you the young lass she will be very happy.

That brought a tear to my eye...just what horses are for, sometimes. Well done Armas, that hock is moving so much better, you must be so pleased.

I think his movement is much improved, I am glad you liked it :)

I like winter bareback to as he keeps me warm :)

thats your garden!!!! WOW!!!

Garden and forest is home and business.

Armas and his little buddy Hersus the Shetland terrorist sends there salutations from France.

If I had a garden & a gorgeous horse like that I would canter around all day, although in my dreams I would have long flowing blonde hair and a floaty dress on lol!

Stunning :-)

When I was a little girl, I used to dream about this kind of senario.

I still do actually :o

She is a lovely rider...I hope she cherishes this video and the photos you have of her & the gorgeous Armas.
I am 39 years old and would love to trade places with her :)

Lol! Me too! Sadly I don't think I could build a sports bra into a floaty dress :o i would just have to put up with the black eyes - and not being able to see :D

Lovely little rider.

It has been pointed out to you before by other posters about the inadvisability of tethering the shetland whilst your horse is running free around him or as here, being cantered around the tree.

I have ordered a collar for the Shetland, I am not concerned that there is much of a risk to horse or poney to warrant changing the situation.
But thank you for your concern.

Lovely horse (he looks so free and happy in this video :)), fab little rider, but why do you find it so hard to accept advice?

I'm another one who would worry about the pony getting to the end of the line in a moment of "fun" and hurting himself and/or Armas getting tangled or tripping when running free with said tethered pony.

It's lovely that you are so proud of your beautiful horse . . . but people who make comments that aren't along the lines of "oh how lovely" aren't doing it out of spite or trying to be negative, they are simply pointing out something that may cause an accident.

I do take advice, such as changing from tethering with a head collar to using just a collar. I have ordered a collar as I see that as a sensible suggestion.
I pick and choose from the advice which I think is necessary. I watch the interaction of horse and pony and if I thought there was an issue of harm I would address that issue. However I don't see an issue that warrants changing the current set up.
I am more concerned that the pony is an escapologist and could end up harming him self else where.
