Who needs a saddle when the sun is out.

I do take advice, such as changing from tethering with a head collar to using just a collar. I have ordered a collar as I see that as a sensible suggestion.
I pick and choose from the advice which I think is necessary. I watch the interaction of horse and pony and if I thought there was an issue of harm I would address that issue. However I don't see an issue that warrants changing the current set up.
I am more concerned that the pony is an escapologist and could end up harming him self else where.

The risk, as I see it, is not just the headcollar/collar issue, it's the line with which the pony is tethered.

Simple solution is to either sort your fencing out so that the Houdini pony can't escape or partition the garden so that you're not risking Armas and/or pony getting tangled up when Armas is at liberty.

I wouldn't be comfy having my own playful boy turned out in the current set up (or the pony for that matter).

That said - your horse/pony . . . yours to do with as you please.
