Who pays for what with a full loan?

As others have said, it depends on what you agree between yourselves. I have Big Orange Mare on full loan. I pay for everything except her insurance and any unexpected vet bills we've arranged to split - routine costs are mine. That said, I didn't ask her owner for any money for the time she got colic or when the idiot cast herself and cut her leg on an invisible leg-cutting machine in her ginormous stable. I've counted those as routine costs. Then again, the time she had to go into the vets for a gastroscope, her owner didn't ask me to pay any part of the insurance excess. So far, it's all balanced out very easily.

Good luck with your loaning - there may be horror stories out there, but I had Blondie out on loan for five years to a family without any problems and Orange's owner couldn't be happier with her living with me and I love her to bits. So sometimes, it does work out :-D
