as above. I posted about a mare for sale on 'Project Horses' (yesterday) and today I find that its been pulled! What is happening to this forum-it seems to be running scared of someone or something
confused.gif
. How about I take a dislike to the word 'competition' and hit the button every time I see it-would ADMIN delete the posts which contain said word? I doubt it, so why are admin being such wimps-do they have no 'substance'? Im begining to have my doubt

. Mairi.
PS; would like a reply without the frills from admin

wow, a 110 views and not one reply! This forum has become a reflection of society-3 monkeys. Gossip always pulls the crowds though

not sure what you can say really! I saw the post yesterday, didn't think it was offensive? Maybe they thought it was advertising or something?!

Another thread was pulled the other day, where Swine Flu was being discused.

An alarming number of posts seem to vanish - for absolutely no reason at all. So very odd........

as I have had no warning from admin the original link I posted was this
http://www.projecthorses.co.uk/html/14_1_-_15hh.html
I commented on the fact that someone could sell on a mare who would probably end up with some low life dealer- Ref number 2698.
The probable cause of the pull was the 'French Connection'-French rescue horses being advertised for sale on Project Horses

. Would the person who had the thread pulled like to come forward and explain why?

I read yeasterdays psot and Im unsure why you would pull it.. If the owner of the horse is on here, then thats tough titties aint it. Its pathetic, Im getitn gsick to death of people pulling posts which are not against T&C's and ADMIN!!!! why do you delete them when they are not =o(

It sounds to me like the horse has possible wobblers syndrome, hence its strange action behind (it is slightly ataxic by the sounds of it) and the vet saying it has a neurological condition. To sell an animal for this much money when it is a degenerative condition which will only get worse (unless treatable by an operation costing thousands - and then no guarantee of sucess) is foolhardy. I'm afraid the owner doesn't appear to be living up to her responsibilities. My horse had wobblers which could not be treated as it was too severe. He had to be put down. He was ten years old and until a few weeks before had been jumping BSJA discovery classes. His symptoms (although very slight at first) had been coming on for many months. It was such a shock to realise he had this condition but I wouldn't have dreamed of trying to sell him knowing he had this problem. I'm sorry - and at the risk of getting slaughtered by people, I really feel that these owners are being most irresponsible by trying to pass on their problem to others, even if they make others aware. The potential for a heartbreaking end to this mares life doesn't warrant £2K in exchange. Whilst it may appear that the owners are trying to 'do right by her' they are just trying to get recompence for a horse that will only end up unrideable and most probably, as in my horses case not even viable as a field ornament. Okay so you could say well at least people are aware of the situation, but unless you really understand about wobblers and the condition, and what effect it has on a horse you can't really know about something, and people may buy it thinking "its only got a funny hind action, that's something I could cope with" only to find a few months down the line you have a horse with varying degrees of ataxic episodes, unable to walk in a straight line, let alone be ridden. Ggrrr it makes my blood boil how thoughtless and irresponsible some people can be.

If you wanted to know why the thread had been pulled a simple PM to HHO Admin would have given you the answer you were looking for.

The thread was pulled following a complaint about the defamatory comments that were being made about the project horses website and the owner of the mare in question.

I hope that helps.

I'd be with you on that diagnosis.

The only saving grace (if there is one) being the adverts are (one would think) worded warts and all and I really think many people on there are in the naive belief that a saint will come along and rescue their horse and love it in spite of its issues.

I had a quite crackers little 14.2 which couldn't do my job although sound and kind in every way. I put her on permanent loan and she has the lifestyle you can only dream of. I wouldn't have sold her as she didn't deserve an uncertain future. I was at my wits' end as I really thought if I didn't want her ... etc. However, her mum doesn't want a competition horse, hacks out (E's speciality as 100% all traffic and hazards) and she has never had a vet to her in her life apart from routine jabs. She's 21 now, so apart from her whizziness, wasn't a 'project' as such.

But I do see where Mairi is coming from

There are too many 'hopeless cases' rather than 'projects' on there.

Has it def been pulled or is it just one of those computer mysteries noone will ever understand?!

Can't see why it would have been pulled to be honest, it was merely commenting on an ad.

Who knows!

Read Admins post above Lady T.

Just can't say anything these days days except - oooo that's lovely - even if it's the worst 'whatever' you have ever seen!

Admin, you need to chill out seriously! In this day and age its ridiculous - we cant say anything anymore. Its not defamatory - its just someones opinion, we dont all automatically assume whats said is true.

Thankyou for your reply admin but seeing as it was your decision to pull my thread would it not have good manners to say you were doing so and the motives behind it in public? As far as I am aware there was no defamation of any sort and if ones thoughts and ideas cannot be made public then a farce is being made of the right of 'freedom of speech'. I shall now join the growing bandwagon of button pushers

. This forum really is becoming a sad, constricted little place. Such a pity, it was once a vibrant community where people didnt take umbrage if someone didnt agree with them. How sad.

FWIW I didn't see your original post but agree that these sellers are being very irresponsible. Lovely horse but has no future and some very novice owner is going to end up with a horse that could potentially collapse underneath them.

In their shoes I would PTS and hope for some recompense from insurance - I'm sure many would consider that brutal though.

thankyou MH for your reply-sad to see that admin are not replying:(. I repeat, i am of the opinion that my post was not defamatory in any way and that if people advertise on other 'public' sites then they are allowing for critisism from Joe public. I would like to know who pushed the button and why? I hate cowards and slinkers
