Who said Collies are the best at agility

Lol it wasnt barking and splitting my eardrums either! Silent extra quick weaving, pretty impressive, you dont think of dobes being able to move like that. :D

Wow the dobie outweaved the collie, I would do agility if I had a dobe like that, my house is a collie free zone, but a dobe could get me into agility:D

DG, get diesel and darcey to the local agility and show those slow collies up:rolleyes:

That was amazing! :D

The collie and non-collie people at our training club have formed opposing factions. :p I maintain that, yeah, okay, a great collie is fantastic, but a manic hyperfocused collie is a bloody nightmare. Dax may not be quick but she never, ever misses a contact. :p

Got a ginger gobshite you can practise with!!! :) He'll do about 4 poles before spotting a hotdog in the crowd?

My trainer loves H and she's a collie person! She really pushing me to get out competing because she thinks not only is he so focused but he's fast (as he proved today jumping from top of the A frame! how NOT to do it!)!

No idea how he'll come up against a collie. I would have said he wouldn't be able to turn as fast, but he's really really getting it :)

The dobe was fast, but in America the weaves are flexible and move as the dog goes through, in the UK they are solid and don't move. I don't know if it still holds the world record, but a few years ago it was a GSD that held the world record for 60 weaves. I've seen Lee's vid before, his dogs are really good, mine would definately come out of the weaves if I was squeaking a toy or threw toys! I can spin as my Sky weaves and go of in another direction though.

Dobiegirl I don't think you were a member here when I last posted these but Dobes are awesome playmates and training partners too :D

(Keep watching, the dobe comes after the Mali)

(Don't watch if you don't like cropped ears or spikey stuff, these dogs are in a different country but obviously much loved :) oh and bad folk music, definitely don't watch if you don't like bad folk music...)

Glad you explained about the more flexible weaves Oenoke, was trying to work out how the dobe was managing to go through them like that. Amazing dog though, there was a dobe on the agility circuit in the 80s, he worked brilliantly at summer shows but used to feel the cold while waiting to run in the winter and used to wear a coat whilst queuing.:)

Thanks CC I enjoyed them with the folk music off.:D

MM The trainer where I will be going with Darcy for agility already has a Dobe called Kryten who is very successful on the agility circuit. If Darcy takes to it Im very confident she will do well, she is as fit as a fiddle and very fast.

Vislak she will also be very quiet, no excited barking:).

Cayla didnt know you were a Dobe fan, might have to have a rethink about rehoming to Dobermann Welfare and send them to you if I croak.:D

I will definately make exception for darcey and diesel feel very free to sent them off to me:D

They're all lovely but I miss the manic collie behaviour - it's part of the fun of it all :D

If our super obsessive speshul collie see anything that even half resembles a weave pole, a-frame or flyball machine he will leave his toys, dinner and brain behind him in his eagerness to get to it. Previous obsessive collie spent hours on top of the dog walk and had to be forcibly removed from it, one before that occasionally used to take breaks in the middle of his rounds to take himself through the flat tunnel and regularly ran off from home as there was a tunnel with a stream running through it in the neighbouring forest... many a day he was found in there happily lying in the tunnel, soaking wet and barking happily to himself.

You can't help but love collies! :D

I'll be scrapping the agility and taking her showing lmao....I have never run for agility OH always used to do it as I'm a cripple! :p :D

Ive seen the photos of you strutting your stuff with the lovely Flora and trotting.

You only have to trot in agility you do not have to jump or crawl down the tunnels the dog does that.:D
