He generally makes xc feel quite easy

This one thinks she can do it, but it's a bit hit & miss. As a poster says further up, she was never schooled over jumps, so it's remained a bit of a "fun" activity for her. She has front ringbone now so it's lucky we never did get round to jumping properly. She'll clear a little 2ft6 track for you though, bless her.

I don't think I've heard anyone in real life say cobs can't jump. I've heard people say their cob doesn't jump, or hasn't jumped, but those cobs when asked have got the most amazing natural jump on them without any training. It seems for cobs the bigger the better. Have you decided to keep your cob now she can jump then?

I must admit, we have come a long way since this photo was taken last year, he does actually get over the WHOLE jump now..so maybe OP has had similar issues

Shy's mum, that photo looks like my Welsh D from today! He stopped at a jump, I gave him a tap and he jumped it with his front legs while his back legs remained on the floor!

He then went on to jump an up to height 1m course & won the jump off so Cobs can jump

Some fab pics of cobs here. I love seeing pictures of them jump. My girl and I have gone through a bit, especially at Hunter trials etc but she's more than proved her worth and that she's capable and she's a proper chunky 'cob'...

I totally agree with this. My girl was disgustingly obese when I bought her. Couldn't do a gentle hack without nearly dying!

Now she is lovely and fit, chunky through natural size and muscle and she can keep up with my friends huge thoroughbred now out on a fast ride! And she loves to jump!

I hate seeing overweight cobs

Shame I don't yet have any photos of us jumping, we only do baby jumps at the minute though anyway.
