Who Takes Their Passport With Them When Travelling? I DON'T!!!!?

i think it is always in the car, however might not be at present as we are getting it sent of to put us as the owners or somthing put our address on it i think

It is kept at the yard as the keeper of the horse should have it (and horse on full livery the yard counts as his keeper) and always take to shows. I have a small case I always take to shows which I put the lorry info in, then his passport and my spare underwear (!). Also carry his various society registrations etc in the same bag and then put in number, schedule, passes etc in same bag (though have been known to forget those).

I always take mine whenever we travel anywhere with the horses but otherwise it stays at home, I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages as long as you don't leave it in an obvious place.

humblepie: I'd be nervous of leaving a passport with the YO (I keep mine on private property) in case someone stole them, or the YO decided to sell your horse etc. I think you're right for doing it though, it is the law, but I'd have to really trust them TBH :o

Mine is in my competition kit bag, so if we're competing then I have it with me yes.
We've broken down a few times and when horse rescue have called to see if I need to get the horse back in case lorry has to go elsewhere, they've always asked if I have the horses passport with me.
As I always have it's never been an issue. Not sure what they'd say if I hadn't?
