who uses coligone for their horses-windsuckers??

hi, who has used it and does it work? i have had my wind sucker/ cribber 7 yrs, he is fed alfa a oil, alfa beet and barley rings, lives out 24/7 on good grass. i give him limestone powder as the soil is quite acidy? just thinking of trying something??
any ideas welcome?
 
I've used coligone on my mare who was getting bouts of colic/poss gastric ulcers. (inconclusive worm tests from vets) Within 20 mins of her having it,(passing wind loudly

) she was up right and back to normal. Now keep a supple of a pot and few syringes around the yard and in the lorry.
 
not personally.. but i have seen it used! It works, it is a fantastic invention (THANK YOU H'S MUM!)
i think it is worth a try as it has worked for a moddy mare i know..

She was on it when i met her, she came off it for a week and i hated the mare she became! thank god when her mummy got more coligone!

I wish it had been invented when I had a windsucking mare but this was 15 years ago.
 
I used it on my windsucker Andy - started on liquid and went on to powder. Whilst it did not stop it 100%, it stopped it 90%, which was good enough for me! Made him far less stressy to be around and ride too.

I use it all the time on all my horses. Coligone has helped with the windsucker although I dont believe it will ever disappear completely, it has reduced by at least 75%. I find it fantastic for travelling long distances to competitions etc. Overall a really good product.
 
The small pot is the liquid? That is 10 syringes - more economical is the powder which lasts about a month at £36 or so, cheaper than U gard which is what I am using at the moment, but still quite a lot of money
 
We use it for our gelding Biggles. He has stopped windsucking completely but will still crib if we don't cover his door with cribbox. But I think that's more habit now - he certainly doesn't seem to have the same need.

It is expensive though £47 for a tub plus p & p. Which adds £600 a year to looking after him. But it works and I think he is a lot more comfortable. It's not as cheap as the collar but we both hated that!!!
 
I tried the powder with my cribber but it didn't help him & very quickly he refused to eat any feed it was in.

U-Gard seems to work well with him & I'm about to try a new supplement by Biotal that's called Gastro Gold since I'm slightly worried about feeding an antacid long-term.
 
thank you?? my horse is not stressy at tall, great to ride bit lively but thats why i love him. Just wondered if it was that miracle cure ive been waiting for??
