Who uses turnout rugs in the stable?

I do if it has been raining and rug is wet. It is horrible to put on a wet clammy rug in the morning. It dries best on them and she is always toasty under them,.
also if someone else has brought her in. I wouldn't ask them to faff around with rugs.
Also in the really cold weather, i feel bad taking off a nice cozy rug to replace it with one that is cold, she would just have to use energy to heat up again.
If I am there and it is dry etc, i love to put her jammas on at night.

No I dont, like them to be in their PJ's when their in and dont like the weight of the turnouts on their backs.

Now that depends on the t/o rugs you choose to buy!

My quality t/o rugs are actually lighter than many of the stable rugs out there and are softer on the inside - being lined with satin feel nylon. They don't slip, are very waterproof so don't come in soaked through, so dry off quicky, are tough but breathable and are comfortable to wear.

I do, saves messing about, stable rugs are generally used as underugs now, and boy did she need them last year, she had a fleece, a light weight stable rug, a medium with a neck, and a heavy combo on when it was snowy and vile, the top rug doesn't half stink after a little while though!:p

I use Rambo, Amigo and Weatherbeeta turnout rugs, and Amigo, Weatherbeeta stable rugs. I suppose I do have an advantage in that I can wash them as and when as I have a rugwash business. Therefore I prefer my 2 in stable rugs when they are in.

Fantastic - appreciate the feedback. It would help not having to get stable rugs as well, as have no rugs at the mo and once you add in lightweight, mediumweight, heavyweight my purse starts groaning....

when i had my horse, i used TO rugs in the stable. Of course they were checked and as he was ridden most days they were taken off most days. they never rubbed.

me too :D
As long as they are breathable then go for it. I found it hard at first being the rug queen but am now a convert and its so much easier, quicker and no more wet, damp rugs.
