who feeds there horse food after the best before date?

i've never had that prob with feed as mine don't get any but with treats I have gone past the best before date. Is it a best before date or a use by date? If it is best before you should be fine with using a small amount after all best before is a recommendation.

I feed up to about 2 months out of date, but after that I wouldn't.

Yes because a bag of feed lasts me a long time and I'd be throwing the majority away!

I only feed hi-fi, and occasionally pony nuts/cool mix anyway.

Once it's starting to look dodgy I throw it

I'm with lady_bird on this. As long at it looks & smells OK then I use.

yep i have and will even buy it (i work in a saddlery so get the stuff the just past for a couple of quid)

i've also adopted treats that others on the yard were going to chuck away....

as long as it smells ok it usually is ok

p.s i wouldn't if i had a fussy/colicy sort of horse

it looks and smells fine and she is eatin it well it is calm and condition if that makes any difference?
