Hello, I remember someone went to view this horse (but can't remember who

)
http://www.horsemart.co.uk/AdvertRef/HM7...HorseDetail.asp
And said it didn't 'feel' right.
I'm interested in going for a look, what was up with it?

the age of the advert ....for starters - it's summer in some piccys and winter in others..........

and it's a dealer - so if a dealer has had this 10 months then why as they usually try and shift things quicker than that

I don't see any summer/winter differences? I don't see anything wrong with the ad, maybe phone up and ask?

She looks quite nice to me, possibly bit downhill to ride though riders position doesn't help! Looks quite short backed, and like she has quite low/ unexpressive paces. But i think she'd be a good little doer, doing well at local level, quite genuine, might suit eventing / endurance, but would be unlikely to go to top in dressage as too plain. Don't know what you're looking for, only basing this oppinion on photos, they may not be a fair represnetation, i would go try her out.

I'd say 10 months means it's more likely to be a reputable dealer who wants horses to go well rather than just sell quickly for money.

Why would a dealer keep a horse so long without asking a substantial price? I would question whether the horse has been ill or injured?

What difference does it make if some pics are taken in the summer and some in the winter.
If they show the horse in the best way then they'd use them.
Just like if i was going to sell dol, i would use a picture that was taken in France.
Because it shows her in the best way!
worth a look, only 5 so the fact shes a little down hill can be improved on but wil never be majorly uphill!
Looks like a nice mare.

Perhaps the dealer has kept her long because she is only 5, so she may have broken her, or had training issues.
Price is too low though if she is sound and as described.

Im thinking health problem so they are hoping at a cheap price buyer wont vet, or that the horse has 'issues'.

Could just be a bargain of course but Im just skeptical.

Are summer winter differences not just that one side oft he arena has normal trees and the other side (in front of green building) has evergreen/christmas tree type thingys?
I would say she looks quite sweet, if you don't mind one that weaves that is a decent price too - but I'm totally inexperienced in buying horses, only one of ours I actually went out and found has been a bit disasterous, bless her! Other two found us and they are great!!

It does say she has had her for 11 months though.

The green tree's in the background look like conifers to me - these are green all year round. Also the rider is wearing the same clothes in both pictures.

dealers don't like keeping horses over the winter -it costs money - more than in the summer

I reckon therefore that the horse has had issues that have delayed a sale

also goes on far too much about never having raced - that doesn't mean to say it wasn't in training................and unsoundness stopped it reaching a racecourse - that happens a LOT

Go have a look and a try, I have a horse at home that I bought some years ago who weaved a 4yr old chesnut mare and she cost me £3,800. I also bought a 4yr old ex racer for £400, nothing wrong with him. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Who knows why some people sell horses cheap, try it and if you are interested get it vetted for peace of mind.

i think the price is low but i would be tempted to go and have a look - ask lots of questions etc. cant hurt to have a go see

you never know - she might just have been young and not anyones cup of tea - thats how i got my last pony!! no one else wanted her - but to me she was perfect!!

I'd say she looks a bit smaller than 15.2 unless the rider is quite tall!

I'm concerned about the height thing, weaving doesn't bother me, I keep them at home, so no liveries to whine about it!

I saw a post on here where someone had been to view her and said she didn't feel right so bought a different horse.

Sod it! I'll 'phone up

she looks nice maybe green as young, any way you can always put her in foal, thats why i stick with mares they got other uses.

Are you being serious?

Its that attitude that results in so many poor quality animals being bred, when people breed anything with anything just because they can.
