To have a whinge about not having a 4 wheel drive.
Two days on the trot I have not been able to get up a very minor hill outside my yard, YO had to rescue me tonight and help me get away.

So its just a whinge that I only have a 2WD and need a 4WD *throws toys out of pram*

Anyone want to join me for a whinge about having a slightly useless 2WD tonight to make me feel better?

I'll join you. I do have a 4 wheel drive but my glow plugs are buggered so I cant get it started. Most frustrating having the blasted thing sat on the drive looking at me smugly.

I'll join you Jac. I've got a very capable Isuzu whos heater plugs are also buggered. It has been sat on the drive for four days refusing to start, just when I need it (although the horses are at home, so that's one good thing) Booked into a friends garage today but funnily enough couldn't start it. He then asked if I hadn't got home start on my insurance. Course I have for the last umpteen years. Why did I need a man to make me feel even more of a lemon. Duly phoned insurance who sent someone out within the hour to start it and take it to the garage duuuuh

Lol, looking at you smugly, they almost brake at the most inopportune times don't they!

i can't moan as my 2 wheel drive has got me to my horses both days through the ice and the snow. i just parked down the road from my yard and had to walk the last little bit. i am the only one apart from my YO who has managed to get there and see my horse. everyone else is snowed in. one livery is going to try and get the bus tomorrow :O

The lady in the stable next to me got up the hill in her 2WD after my failed attempt, I said this to my OH, he said its because my car is much heavier

At least I got out thanks to YO

I will be doing the very same as you and leaving my car up the road and walk the last past as all the other roads are much better now leading to my yard.

My little 2WD is also a legend and has seen me through nearly a month of snow and ice now

I did get a bit stuck once when i had to drive into a snow drift because of some bolshy 4WD idiot hogging the road, but got out after less than a minute of wheel wiggling.

I wouldn't mind a 4WD though, i would feel a bit safer. Although they seem to feel a bit -too- safe sometimes, they've been the ones right up my bum over the last few weeks when i'm doing sensible speeds on main roads and apparently it's not fast enough for them.

I can make you feel better.
My work sent out an e-mail yesterday, saying they would reopen today.
This triggered me to dig my car out of about a tenth of a mile of snowed in track to my house, moving deepish snow.
I made it to the main road

and only then realised that my car had acquired the most impressive oil leak through its snow surfing activities.
It was all over the road.
My car is now in the garage, awaiting an organ transplant.
I went back into the house - only to read an update e-mail - my office was closed.

I disembowelled my car for nothing.

Feel better now?
