She arrived at lunchtime today...no name yet...Passport says Lamp Park...

They said they'd wormed her a week ago, but she does look a bit wormy. I've had 10 years of zero worm counts here (at home) & don't want to jeopardise it, so I'm going to send off a poo sample & keep her in a separate field from Trev. Which I was going to do anyway, tbh.

She is barely halter broken, so is going to require some consistent work!

The plan for now is to keep working with Trev (he had KS surgery in June & is now back in work) & see how he is in the spring. Firing on all cylinders = get a trailer & get cracking; still slow = try to find another ex-racer & keep Trev as a pet, which I don't think he'd mind.

omg isnt she a little sweetie!
big button eyes on her!
good luck with her make sure you keep us updated!
i like opal as a name or even sapphire but you will be starting to real her personality more and more as the days go by and i am sure you will find some thing to suit her :)

Awww, super cute. Everywhere I go I see photos of cute Shetlands. id love one, so please keep posting shettie photos so I don't need to buy my own.

Bet you could bury your face in that fluff

Passport says her name is Lamp Park...??! Will see what sort of a name she suits once she's started coming out of her shell a bit. I toyed with Jenny - my old girl that I had from the age of 3 to 40 was a Jenny so I'm kind of used to having a Jen around. But now I think she deserves her own name, IYSWIM!

She's adorable and so tiny :) No help with the name I'm afraid though I'm glad mine came with a name or the poor thing would have been doomed haha

Looking on Grass Roots she is not registered with the Shetland Pony Stud Book society so you would be unable to show her in affiliated classes. She looks as though she won't mature any bigger than 32"-33" so she is a miniature.

Wee cutie though!

Oh, thank you for checking, EKW. Wasn't planning on showing her, tbh... Funnily enough, my friend who's a BHS examiner popped in to see her & said that her 'funny' shape is typical of miniatures. I am not that fussed about backing her, so if she turns out to be too tiny for a 7 st 12 adult to ride when she's finished growing, she can be a lady of leisure. Trev seems to like her, so that's what counts. He is quite opinionated on who he likes & who he doesn't, so it's good that he wants to be friends with her.

Gorgeous little thing! How about Sparky...going with the Lamp theme, or Florence (as in nightingale who I believe was known as the lady with the lamp).
